Spring Break ~ Part 1 ~ Texarkana

So happy for Spring Break! We started off our week with Mimi & Doo Dad in Texarkana. Monday we had a picnic at the park. (Yes, I had sandwich in my mouth!...but it was a cute pic otherwise....so I sacrificed myself!) It was a beautiful day.
We walked around the park looking for "hungry" ducks...not much. Those ducks are well fed.
But, we did find a baby turtle. It was SO cute! We took it home with us and the kids had their first pet...for 2 days anyway.
It was tiny. They named him Tiny Tim.
Then home for by dad's burgers....not much better! We had a picnic dinner. You know its a good day when you have 2 picnics!
We had a little early birthday party for Lawson. She got a pair of rainbow sketchers from Mimi and DooDad that she has been wanting for the past 2 months. She was SO excited!
Here are some more park picks.
Lawson doing the monkey bars....fear factor-style! You should have seen the look on her face! Fear towards the end!
Then on Tuesday we headed to the golf course. The kids LOVED this!
They played ALL nine holes "scramble" style with Robbie. The kids both got to drive the golf carts....which was a first for them both! And for us...never been chaffuered by mhy kiddos!
It took us about 3 hours to play all 9 holes...and the kids really wanted to stay and play more. Can't believe they will stick with it like that!
Then home for some sidewalk chalk art!
We also squeezed in a quick trip to Chuck E Cheese...not photos.
Such fun relaxing times. Thanks mom and dad for hosting us and treating us to fun things!
Part 2...coming up in Little Rock!

End of Basketball Season

The Jayhawks ended up 7-1. It was a great learning season for Hudson. He learned to shoot on an 8 ft goal...last year he shot on a 6 ft goal. He FINALLY scored in the 7th game of the season. He scored 4 points! This was a big accomplishment. He worked REALLY hard. Way to go Hudson! We had fun watching you play!

Valentine's Day

We enjoyed some yummy fun treats for Valentines Day!
The kids had been wanting these Ms. Piggy and Kermit tervis tumblers....and they finally got them! Plus, their favorite bakery treat!
And Nonie and Poppa sent us the cutest Cookie Bouquet! I LOVE these cookies!
The kids got their goodies before school...and the flash was just TOO bright for their sleepy little eyes! Funny pics!
And we had heart shaped pizzas for dinner!

Daddy Daughter Dance

For the past 6 years, Lawson and her Daddy have had a special Valentine's date.
And just when I think she can't get any cuter...
she does!
This year's dress might be my fav. Really fun! Check out that smile! Love the snaggle tooth look!
And yes, that's a picture of her daddy on her neclace! Sweet!
She found this store last year....that sells this brand of little girls high heel shoes. Like 1 inch heels....and I like the traditional look of the Mary Jane front. Win win!
This year... I asked her how she wanted me to fix her hair. She said "down and straight"...which is no suprise. She always want to wear it down and straight....and she wishes is were dark brown.
She rode to the dance with two of her girlfriends...Celia and Aida. From the pics Rob snapped...it looks like they were 3 peas in a pod!
Love the dance shots! Go La!
She has really gotten into dancing. She spends most afternoons after school dancing to Victoria Justice music. And she has really picked up some new moves! I love to watch her! Talk about makin your heart happy.
YES! The SPRINKLER!
You know its a good dance..when you have to take your shoes off!
The girl has skills!
But, maybe not "Limbo" skills! Ha!
They had a blast!
Sweet times.

We are MFFL!

Santa put tickets to a Mavs game in all of our stockings for Christmas and today was game day for us! I put all of our t-shirts up on the mantel this morning before everyone woke up...thought it would be a fun way to suprise the kids that we were going to the game tonight!
Not much more fun than driving into down town and seeing all the buildings and lights. Lawson and Hudson get really into it! So cute!I won't lie...I was SO excited to see the championship banner with my OWN eyes! I fell in love with the Mavs in 2001 and have watched most every game since. Winning the championship last year was so awesome...and I needed to see that banner!

The Mavs lost to the Pacers 98-87. But, it evidently didn't spoil it for the kids....because Lawson asked the next morning...."Did the Mavs win last night?"
