Library Field Trip

Hudson's class went on a little field trip to the Bryant library today.  They saw a puppet show, learned about the summer reading program, and made a craft.  The lady who led the group time there was really great and totally had their attention.
Of course, Hudson's favorite part was riding the school bus!

More on Baseball

Here is Hudson with the trophy before we had to give it back!  He looks good with a trophy!
A ball tipped off his glove and hit him in the forehead tonight.  Kinda scary.  But, he was really tough!  Didn't cry.  There are actually stitch lines off of the baseball imprinted on his head!
Here is one of his hits from tonight's game.

Almost Recital Time

I snuck in Lawson's class dance class today and recorded 3 of the 4 dances she will be doing at her recital next month!  I thought if I recorded them she could practice along with them at home.  Lawson checks my blog just about everyday after school to see if there is anything new.
LAWSON - today's post is for you girlfriend!  Have you practiced your dances today?  Get up and let's go girlfriend!!

Spring Fling

Wow!  There was a lot of fun had at Spring Fling at the kids school today! But, don't let these sunny pics fool you!  It was a beautiful day FREEZING and super windy!  It had been warm all week...and then this front blew in last night!  Crazy weather!  (Hudson said he thought the ground hog changed his mind!  Ha!) The school principal and dads who volunteered for a 45 minute shift in the dunking booth were hard core!  And smart to wear wet suits...but you could tell they were freezing! The kids enjoyed the dunking booth SO much! It was definitely one of the highlights!

The grades moved from station to station.  I tracked with Lawson and Robbie tracked with Hudson.  There was the dunking booth, relay games, Arkansas Game and Fish brought out some fish and animal skins and talked about animals, an African drummer who brought real African drums and taught the kids different beats on them, the Zoo brought a few creatures, bounce houses, a magician, sidewalk chalk, singing silly songs with a group from the High School drama team, popsicles and popcorn!  Whew!  It was a lot fun!

Thanks to everyone who worked hard to pull this day off!  I'm sure there are about 500 kiddos who slept well afterwards and are looking forward to next year's Spring Fling!  Maybe with warmer weather!  (On the bright side...we weren't hot and it wasn't raining!)

The Trophy

Here are a few pics from tonights game.  We lost.  :)

But,  it was Hudson's turn to bring home the team trophy from last week's tournament!  He came home and set it up on his dresser next to his game ball and hat.  So proud!

Fairy Tale Theatre Day

Today was Fairly Tale Theatre Day in Hudson's Class.  The assignment was to dress up like a fairy tale character and tell the part your character played in the story.  Hudson chose to be the prince in Snow White. The prince actually plays a pretty small part in the story...just swooping in to rescue at the end.  But, Hudson gave quite an account of the entire story!  He did great!
I stayed and watched all the kiddos.  It was really cute!  Really surprised at how nervous they all got!  Didn't think nerves would bother kindergartners!

Hudson Rise-N-Shine

Hudson had the privilege of kicking things off at Rise-N-Shine one more time today!

Arora Zoo Night

We headed out to the Little Rock Zoo this evening.  Judy works for Arora who hosted this amazing evening for donor families from all over the state of Arkansas. They rent the zoo for this private event and serve a wonderful dinner.   Such a wonderful cause and organization.  We just tagged along.! The weather was perfect.  High 60s and sunny!

The penguin display is new.  I have never seen a penguin swim in person before.  They are amazing in the water!  Can swim SO gracefully and quickly!  I think God is just so imaginative!  Penguins are just ridiculous when you see them waddling along land!  And then are just amazing in the water! They apparently could see us through the glass too...they would just swim right up to us!

Oh...how we love the big silverback Gorilla! He is one amazing creature! I'm always so captivated with monkeys of any sort.  They are just so human like.  But, this guy was really entertaining with his funny facial features and swag!

I want to take home that baby Gorilla!  (I know...probably not the best idea!)

It was a really fun night!  I know all the donor families had a wonderful time.  So thankful for those who give the gift of life!
