Big Picture Day

We spent today taking pictures!  Got up and out early this morning to take Hudson's baseball team pics!  Aren't they SO cute! Love how the coaches are too cool to smile!

Then we came home to doll Lawson up for her recital pics.   Really glad she came together so well!  I had been meaning to really think through her hair and make up...so I would have a plan...but we have just been SO crazy busy this month!  She loved every minute of this photo shoot!  Can you tell?

What a cutie!

Mimi and DooDad Visit

Mimi and Doodad came for a quick visit to see one of Hudson's baseball games.  And they managed to squeeze in a lunch date with each kid at their school!  Lots of fun!

Check out this great hit Hud got!

Lawson's Class Field Trip

Lawson's class on a field trip today to Lake Degray.  I knew they weren't swimming...so I didn't really know what to expect.  I was pleasantly surprised!  The park rangers came out and did some really fun yet educational things with the kids. They played games with them to teach them about what types of animals herd their prey...and then had them play games that demonstrated the benefit of hunting in a pack versus hunting alone.  It really drove home the point...and was really fun for the kids!
Then they taught about reptiles.  They brought 3 snakes and a small alligator that the kids got to touch!

Lunch time!
Then they taught about insects.  Which concluded with the opportunity to eat an insect!  They had packaged mill worm larvae that were cheddar cheese flavored!  If you ate it, you got a really cool "I ate a bug button" !

I wasn't sure Lawson would do it...
...but she did!  Go girl!
Then they taught the kids about the bald eagle.  Ms. Hill became a bald eagle as part of the lesson.  The kids loved it!

Hudson's Class Field Trip

Hudson's kinder class took a field trip today to the Glenrose Family Farm.  I can't imagine a better place to take a field trip! Nothing fancy...just simple classic fun run by a really sweet couple on their beautiful piece of land.

Everything was so wonderfully thought out.  They have 10 separate stations around the property...petting zoo, fishing, train ride, carousel, mountain slide, slingshots, horseshoes, bumper boats, etc.  Their class spent 20 minutes at each station and then rotated.  They had a picnic lunch in the middle and the weather was perfect!

The kids were not sure what to think about this LARGE friendly turkey!

Love all the different ways Hudson tried tug o war...sitting, standing, leaning, even way up front of everyone else!

Hudson was blessed with a wonderful teacher and sweet little class!  We will miss kinder!

Disney On Ice

Nonie and Poppa treated the kids to Disney on Ice.  And it did not disappoint! I wasn't sure what Hudson would think about it...might be to "princess-ish" for him...but he loved it too! And from the pics I can see why!  Looks pretty fabulous...kinda wish I had gone!
Any show that starts with funnel cakes and coke at 10am is gonna be good!

Nonie said they were pretty much mesmerized the entire time!

The grand finale!  Fireworks!
Thank you Nonie and Poppa for this fun day!
