Happy Cow Appreciation Day!

Come dressed like a Chick-fil-A cow and eat for free!

So, here we are...dressed and ready to moo!

We're SHAMELESS when it comes to Chick-fil-A!
It's one of our favorites!

However, the large mascot Chick-fil-A cow is NOT our kids favorite! They are terrified of it! Hudson screams, shakes, his lips turn white and he looks like he is going to pass out! We are talking serious fear! (We're pretty sure he is going to need counseling later in life to get over his cow trauma!) So, I had to call Chick-fil-A and ask if the cow was going to be there before we could go! Luckily, they gave us the "all clear" on the cow!

Robbie had such a thoughtful gift waiting for him in his office on Thursday! Someone left this goodie bag filled with the recipe and all the items needed to make a big pot of Chicken Tortilla Soup! Even a Walmart gift card to cover the cost of the needed chicken breasts!

So, 2 free meals this week! We are BLESSED!

Bippity-Boppity-Boo!

Cinderella

A friend told us about this kids theatre production of Cinderalla that was showing at the Palace Theatre in Grapevine. So last Monday, we went to check it out! It was SO cute! I thorougly enjoyed it myself! The kids were SO talented that performed in the play! Lawson LOVED it and was taken with the (brunette?) Cinderella. After the play was over she asked, "Can Cinderella come play at our house?" She was able to get Cinderella's autograph and a photo with her after the play!

4th of July

Lawson gets into holidays like I do!

And she is always looking for an excuse to buy new clothes (which she also probably gets from me!) So, she started telling me needed a 4th of July dress! (Because everyone has one of those, right?) Luckily Walmart had a large selection of patriotic clothes that were very inexpensive. So, her and Hudson both picked out something to wear on the 4th.

So, here they are in their red, white and blue!

The kids specifically requested NO fireworks this year. And anyone who knows me knows that not seeing fireworkds goes against everything I am! (I love to celebrate holidays in the fullest way possible and I love the USA!) BUT, we have taken them every year and every year they sit with their hands covering their ears the entire time asking how much longer.....which really puts a damper on my enjoyment. SO, I agreed and said maybe we would try it again next year.

Then, Lawson came up with an idea. She said since we weren't going to fireworks we should go to a parade. She LOVES to watch John and Kate plus 8 (earlier episodes...not the current season) and she had seen an episode where they went to a 4th of July parade and apparently had lots of fun. SO, I started hunting and found this parade. My parents were in town and went with us. We found a place to park and sat in the back of the van so we had shade. It was very enjoyable and I left feeling very happy that I live in this great country! I think this will be a new 4th of July tradition for us.

We stopped at McDonalds for lunch on the way home, went home and rested for a bit and then hit the pool!

It might have been the perfect 4th of July (minus going to see fireworks.....but I must admit that watching fireworkds after the kids went to bed on TV with the Boston Pops Orchestra in our air conditioned living room wearing PJ's and eating dessert wasn't all that bad!)
