Spring Break - Part 3

So, for the final leg of our spring break road trip we loaded up and headed toward home by way of making a super fun stop at Steph (my sister) and Eddie's house. Steph took us to this most amazing place in Rockwall called the Harbor. It's a little collection of shops and restaurants right on Lake Rockwall with amazing landscaping and view of the lake. If you've never been there, stop next time your passing through Rockwall! We ate a Luna De Noche and had the most delicious ribeye fajitas ever! Good stuff!
The weather was cool and breezy! It felt great! Those flowers were SO gorgeous they didn't look real!

These 3 had the best time playing together! They probably ran a mile...seriously!
Isn't that sky gorgeous?!
Then we headed back to Steph and Eddie's to spend the night.
The next morning we had a couple of hours to spend playing basketball and on their new swingset! We had the best time!
Hudson was SO thrilled that he can finally reach "A" net!
Lovin' these two in their denim jackets! (Brooklyn is wearing Lawson's jacket from 3 years ago! I guess I have a "thing" for em!)
Thanks Steph and Eddie! Let's do this again! Soon! (...unless we drove you crazy!)

I am SO thankful for this wonderful week of fun, family and no alarm clock! It's gonna be hard to get back to life!

Spring Break - Part 2

On Monday afternoon, we loaded up and drove down to the city that is "twice as nice!" Texarkana. We took the kids to do the totally cliche but OH so necessary standing in two states at the same time photo. Even though we go to Texarkana for every holiday, we had never done this. So, now we have!We spent all our time outside here, too!
Lawson did some fine sidewalk painting and drawing...with some help from her assistant, Mimi.
Rob and I were overseeing the project!
We went swimming in an indoor pool for about 30 mins...it wasn't as warm as it should have been! Because Hudson has no body fat and was shaking uncontrolably...we decided to cut the swimming short! But, the kids hadn't swam since last summer so they thought it was awesome!
Here he is still trying to warm up after swimming!
Mimi threw Lawson a little early birthday party! She made the cookie cake!
On Tuesday, we decided to take the kids golfing. They had never been...Hudson has been asking to play on a REAL course...and the weather was gorgeous!
We paid to play 9 holes...but were pretty sure the kids wouldn't want to stick with it that long...and we were cool with that.
La liked it for about 2 holes.
Hudson played ALL nine....which took us 3 1/2 hours...and he was still going strong!
He just played with wiffle balls....but he has quite a swing...and knocked the fire out of them!

I, however, was totally along for the ride! Loved sitting outside with the cool breeze, watching my guys play golf and driving a cart!
Hudson wanted to do everything just like his daddy. So sweet!
He would intentionally hit the ball into the sand trap so that he would have to go in the sand to hit it out. We kept telling him that you want to avoid the sand...but there was no convincing him!
He was just SO cute out there!
And then he crashed! That golf game caught up with him!

Thank you Mimi and Doo Dad for the golf and the good food! We had a super time!

Spring Break - Part 1

We packed up as soon as we got out of school and work on Fri and took off on a spring break road trip! Stop number 1...Little Rock! We had 2 great days spending time with Rob's family. The weather was nice and we spent most of the time outside playing. Oh yeah...we are 4 wheeling around the neighborhood! (I know what you're thinking...You might be a red neck if...probably so!)
There are always many hours logged on this swingset! Even Mary, who is 15, still enjoys hanging with her cousins on the swings.
We had lots of yummy snacks and food!
Lawson even got to ride her Daddy's childhood bike. Pretty nostalgic!
Look at that thing! I asked Rob, "you're how old?" The style of the bike looks SO old to me!
We had several big games of family baseball!
Fun and fresh air! You can't beat it! Thank you Nonie and Poppa for ALL your hospitality!

Lawson's 1st Grade Concert

All 7 Eagle Ridge Elementary 1st Grade classes put on a big spring concert tonight! They were G-R-E-A-T!!!
They sang and motioned to the cutest songs about all different types of animals. Because I work with children, and know how they are, I'm always so impressed when 150 kids are ALL participating in an activity!

Lawson was selected to have a speaking part as well. She recited into the mic the first couple of lines to a poem about ducks. (watch video below) And she hit a home run! Way to go La!
