Hudson's first basketball practice was tonight. He is playing at the YMCA. We are pretty sure that this is going to be HIS sport. (Or as sure as you can be when he is 4!)
Here is Coach Fachet introducing himself.
They did some warm up drills. He is making a making a figure 8 with the ball by rolling it around each leg.
Hudson is not always a very good listner at home...but he ALWAYS listen to his coaches. So, maybe I should start wearing warm up pants and a whistle!
Hudson was determined to learn to dribble when he was 2...because he saw Lawson doing it. So, he has had 2 years to really get dribbling the ball down. And he spends a LOT of time shooting on his little goal. So, he is no rookie!
It wasn't too long after practice started that parents started commenting to Robbie and I about how good he was. Which was very flattering....at first!
He was totally focused. And he was making most of his shots. He probably made more than everyone else combined! The coach said, " you should have signed him up for the 5&6 year old team!"
At one point, the coaches wife called everyone off the court for juice and a snack. So, everyone went and set down....except Hudson. He was SO thrilled to have a real court with a kid sized goal! He wasn't going to waste a minute! Which made him stand out even more!
It was almost like when one team just won't quit running the score up on another team! I felt a bit embarassed! But, he was SO happy, we couldn't MAKE him take a break and eat fruit snacks!
