Lawson & Friends First Lemonade Stand

Lawson got an early birthday gift today...and here's the story.
About a month ago, Lawson and several of the other little girls in our neighborhood started making plans to have a Lemonade stand on March 23. They got a notebook and wrote down assignments...who was repsonsible for cups, ice, lemonade, etc. Then they found card board and started making signs that ended up in someone's garage. They had about 3 planning sessions and were really excited.
Meanwhile....I had been doing the usual birthday gift shopping and was really having a hard time finding a "big" birthday gift...you know the one your mom and dad cough up! And THEN...I found the BEST deal...on the BEST gift an 8 yr old could think of!
And ACTUAL lemonade stand!
It is SO cute! And versatile. It is all chalkboard on the front and back. It is light weight and fold up really compact. SO, we can bring it inside and the kids can play McDonalds, Grocery Store, etc. Might be MY favorite present EVER!
Now, I wasn't sure if the other ittle girls would really come through with their assignments this afternoon. So, I had all the bases covered just in case! The little girls came over right as scheduled at 4:30 to do the lemonade stand...but brought nothing!
No problem! I had lemonade, a new plastic ( i wanted something low maintenance that wouldn't get knocked over and broken) lemonade dispenser, super cute yellow coffee cups with lids, chocolate chip cookies inividually bagged, ice bucket, made them yellow lemonade signs on foam board, colored chalk and eraser, girlie music on our IPOD with little speakers, yellow Aprons and bubbles! It was quite the set up. Pretty sure I was proud of myself!
Here they are making their first sale to Nonie!
Then Hudson rustled up a customer...literally! Caught Mr. Weldon as he was pulling in his driveway and invited him over. Look at Hudson go! He was excited!

The kids did come up with the name! We live on Chris Dr....pretty catchy!
You should have seen them flagging down the cars! And the first time they got someone to stop...Lawson was just jumping up and down screaming "yes! yes! yes!" It was hilarious to watch!
Neighborhood boys discovered the stand and brought them a lot of business. It was a hot afternoon and they had been playing football.
Meanwhile, Rob and I and Judy and Turner sat across the street and watched. It was so much fun! The kids earned $44. So, they all came home with like $6! Not a bad little business!
