Just the normal routine Friday morning....got up, got the kids up, fixed breakfast, packed lunches...and took this Cat to school! It was Dr. Seuss week at school!
This aftertoon Steph and her girls stopped by to hang out for a bit on their way to her in-laws. Lawson and Hudsonw were SO excited about them coming...just couting down the moments til they would get here all week! When they arrived it was time for Gibson to eat, and the kids could hardly stand waiting to get their hands on him!
Hudson had baseball practice Friday night. So, Aunt Steph, being the fine softball veteran she is, threw passes with Hud and got him warmed up!
They got to stay and play for about 2 hours...which wasn't long enough! We were dissapointed to see them go...but glad for the time we had to hang with them!
Saturday was warm, with a cool breeze, and beautiful! We had been thinking about climbing Pinnacle Mountain, wasn't sure if the kids could make it, but we decided to give it a try and take advantage of the beautiful springlike weather!
The trail we went on was 1.5 miles and took about 2 hours to complete! The kids seemed a little tired at first from being up a bit late Friday night...and Rob and I talked about maybe not going all the way. Hearing that the kids set their minds to make it...they did not want to turn back. And they did!
The view from the top was beautiful! We sat and had a snack and just enjoyed the sense of accomplishment.
When we had almost reached the top Lawson said, "We shouldn't have to exercise again for about like 3 days after this!" And then on the way back down she said, "When I get home I am definately putting on my soft fuzzy house shoe socks! My feet are killing me!" She's so funny!
That's the moutain we climbed. Isn't that beautiful?!
