Cheersport Competition ~ Kansas City

Lawson performed in her first Cheer Competition in Kansas City this weekend.  She has done cheer team performances before....but never competed.  It was also a first time for us to go to Kansas City.  What a beautiful city!  The architecture of all the buildings was so classic-ly beautiful. Millions of red bricks.  We stayed at an Embassy Suites hotel in the Plaza area.  You could tell it was old but very well cared for and so unique!  This was a giant fountain in the center of the lobby.
The instructions were to arrive with hair in the the high, tight pony with no fly aways wearing red lipstick and mascara.  The eye shadow would be done by the coaches.

And THIS is how they applied it to all 24 girls!  I have not seen this technique at the make up counter!

I have watched most of their practices...and they performed their routine better today than I have ever seen them do it!  Way to go!  Nailed it!
Their were 3 teams in their division.  And the other two teams looked really good too. I thought even if they got 3rd...that wouldn't be bad for a first competition for the squad.  I was totally thrilled the outcome...tied for 1st!

La with her coaches...
La with her family...
La with the team trophy...
Kudos to this little guy...He might have had to watch 37 cheer teams perform before his sister's team!  #cheerbrotherproblems
