Hudson's Spring Performance

Hudson had his Spring music performance at his school tonight! We were really excited to see it....because he was sick and didn't get to participate in the fall performance. Here he was before the show.
The girls were to dress like butterflys and the boys like frogs.
My camera wouldn't zoom in any closer...
Hudson is on the second row from the top...wearing a green frog mask...in the middle of the photo above.
I was really impressed. They did some interpretive dancing, sang in Spanish and even Vietnamese! You could hear Hudson really singing out. He did a great job!
Pretty sure he was the cutest frog there!
AND...as we were walking down the hallway I spotted his name on this bulletin board. He is in the 100 club! He can count to 100! (Actually, to 121 if you want to get specific!)
Way to go Hudson!
PS - A special shout out to Aunt Steph, Nonie and Mimi who ALL looked at the Dollar Section at Target for the frog mask. And Nonie looked TWICE! Thank you! Sorry, I lost the first one!

Happy 8th Birthday Little La!

Happy 8th Birthday Lawson!
I can't believe you have been in our lives for 8 sweet years...but yet I can't really remember life without you either!
Whew! We have had company in town and have been celebrating your birthday ALL weekend! It started Friday night with a little pizza birthday dinner with Nonie, Poppa, Mary and Morgan!
Then after your birthday party Sat...we added in Mimi, Doo Dad, Steph, Eddie, Chandler and Brooklyn too! We had 14 people for dinner! We packed this house out!
Love this pic of eddie playing Headbanz (a guessing board game) while watching golf!
Then this morning (Sun) we had a donut birthday breakfast! We sang Happy Birthday to you at 9:11 the exact minute you were born! I have never sang to someone at their exact birth moment! How exciting! Kinda think it may be a new tradition around here!
You had a few more present to open through out the day!
Lawson...
you are the most wonderful daughter we could have ever imagined! You so sweet, happy, and so incredibly cute! You just love life. I love that you keep hope alive by always saying "well maybe" when you are told no....even though you know the answer is no. I love that you love rainbows and playing outside. I love that you often randomly skip or run across the room out of happiness (a bit quirky but so cute!). I love that you stomp around in my high heels most of the time! I love that you sing and dance shameless-ly in the living room after school most days! I love that you still play with your baby dolls. I love that you are one of my best shopping buddies! I love that you love little kids...especially your little cousins. I love that you still like to snuggle before falling asleep in bed!
May you always know how much Daddy, Hudson and I adore you!
Happy Birthday!

Lawson's 8th Birthday Party!

Every year....its always a big decision where to have the big birthday party. I hope that one of the things my kids remember about their childhood is that we always celebrated birthdays...big! I aways research and gather all the fun ideas I can find. I have considered doing the "beauty shop" birthday party since she was like 3...(seriously...because its just the cutest theme)...but have found myself saving it for a year she would really appreciate it. I realize that at the ages of 3-5 the kids mostly just want to run around and act crazy...therefore we have done tunnel playgrounds, gymnastics places, etc. Then when she entered school she wanted to invite all her classmates...including the boys...so the "beauty shop" party still wasn't a fit. But, a few months ago she attended a birthday party at Girly Girl and has had her heart set on it every since!
So, this year was a Girly Girl party! And it was ALL that it was cracked up to be!
We arrived a few minutes early and Lawson helped me set up the cupcake stand with this SUPER girly cupcakes! Leopard wrappers, pink and purple icing, blinged crown rings and neon sprinkles!
Then it was off to the costume changing room to pick out an amazing costume to wear duing the party!
The party room has this fun make-up vanity area!
AND disco ball!
Next up...hair extensions and make-up! Even Rob got it on the action!
Then add in some Kareoke! Lawson created her own playlist for her birthday party of about 20 songs. We burned cd's for everyone and included it with the invitation...so that others would be a bit familiar with the party music. It included everything from Taylor Swift to Victoria Justice to Selena Gomez toJustin Beiber!
What's better than 1 microphone? 2 microphones!
Hudson was the ONLY boy at the party....you can see it really bothered him! He stood on that stage and sang word for word ALL 20 songs! Since he didn't need hair, makeup or nails....he was left with a LOT Of mic time!
Hudson did take an ice cream break!
And what better way to pass the time while your nail polish dries...singing from your chair!
After everyone was looking uh-MA-zing it was time for the runway show! Each girl got her named called...got to walk the runway...while the MC told us her favorite color, food, etc and future plans! So cute!
Then it was cupcake time!
And of course, the wonderful presents!
The party ended with Lawson adding her star to the Wall of Fame!
This party was worth the wait!
And possibly a re-peat!
Thanks everyone for making La's birthday party a wonderful memory!
