Is it still January?

What do you do when it is a beautiful 75 degree January day?

Build sand castles in the driveway and play some football...of course!
Hudson and our neighbor friend, Payton, had a serious 1 on 1 game of football going on!

Hudson played his 3rd basketball game this morning.
The YMCA doesn't keep score with this age group. So, Hudson brought his own score keeper! We won 32-26! And Hudson scored 22 points...but who's counting???!!!

That's My Girl!

A few days ago...at 5:45am...Lawson stumbled into our bedroom and climbed into our abandoned bed (sadly Rob and I were up getting ready for work). I was in the bathroom doing my make-up.
After laying there quietly for several minutes she said, "Mom, is it called Ross or Ross's?" A bit puzzled (we don't really frequent Ross...so I didn't know how she knew about it!), I answered, "The clothing store?"
She said, "yes....and they have shoes there too, right?"
"Yes, I said."
Lawsn then informed me that we need to go there because her friend Madeline got some "Rainbow Sketchers" from there. She asked if we could go right after school and I told her we would see.
She was quiet again for a few minutes. Then she said "Mom, did the Mavs win last night?"
Robbie had been listening to our conversation and started to laugh! He said, "she is SO your daughter. Concerned with shopping and the mavs!" And he is right!
She is a girl after my own heart!
These are the rainbow Sketchers from Ross. We never made it to Ross...but her Nonie did!
Thanks, Nonie!

Chicago WHO???

Hudson was under the weather today and stayed home with Rob. I came home from work to find a basketball goal in my kitchen (which is not abnormal) and a score board (also, not abnormal). But, as I took a closer look at the score...I totally cracked up! We have a lot of Mavs. VS. Suns games at our house, or maybe the Mavs. VS Lakers. But, THIS is a first! Wildcats (HIgh School Musical inspired) VS. WHO????
The CHICAGO FLAMERS!

I asked Rob which team he played for. He said "me". I guess the "flamers" didn't bring their A game today!
Hudson is hilariious! I SO wish the Chicago Flamers were a real team!

Take 7 minutes and listen...

I heard this song at Keystone (you gotta get there fast BTW!) last weekend! I wanted to share it! I've been singing it all day!
I'm still amazed that the creator of our universe has ANY interest in me...and that he has a "wild" and "great" plan for me....despite my mistakes! His incredible love for me and the fact that he wants me to "Come away" with him are just icing on my cake!

Hud-Vitski!

Nonie and Poppa spent the weekend with us and got to see Hud's basketball game!
We won this week! (Not sure of the exact score...because they don't officially keep score!) Hudson scored 20 points! He put up Dirk-like numbers!

Evidently Lawson thought she had a press pass...because she kept walking out on the court!

There is no obvisouly NO shot clock! Check it out!

One more video!

La's Artwork

La brought home this little masterpiece from school today! It made me smile so I thought I would share it!
I asked her who it was a picture of....she said"me...with (hair) clips!"
(I guess she thinks her hair is super straight, black and thin??!!)

Proverbs 15:1

As a family, we are going to be working on memorizing a bible verse each week. (Remember to pause my playlist - right hand side of the page!)

I'm going to post the kids reciting them because they spend a lot of time looking at my blog. Thought this would be a good way for them to tuck them in away in their long term memories! (Maybe I should record Rob and I saying them too! Our long term memories need all the help they can get! Or at least Rob's does...sorry honey!)

Hoop Day!

Hudson's first basketball game with the YMCA was today! He has been so excited all week asking everyday, "do I have practice today? A game?" He slept in his jersey the day he got it! (And yes, it is an XS...but looks like it could fit a 7 yr old...easily!)
A few shots of him during shoot-around!
A quick pose for mom before gametime!
And yes, 7 is back! (His was number 7 in soccer.)
Taking the "YMCA" pledge
Really great idea....they wear matching colored armbands with someone on the other team. This is the person they are to be guarding. So, here they were explaining that to the kids.
He was waiting patiently...but I know he was thinking... "Throw me the ball, Camile!"
Guaurding his man...tell me he isn't in it to win it!
Getting to throw the ball in
Fast break!
Trash talking the opponent...."I'm four." I heard Hudson say with a bit of swagger!
Making a plan!
Rob heard Hudson say..."I'm gonna put some defense on you!"
He kept doing this and told me he was waiting for a rebound! He was after a double-double!
Go Hudson, Go!
Good game! Good game!
Hudson's team lost 18-10...
BUT guess how many point Hudson scored?!
Yeah, baby! All ten of them!
Or 5 "shoots" as he calls them.
(He had purple teeth from his after game snack!)
He played all four quarters (due to his fellow teamates suffering from a feelings "injury" and a shorts malfunction!) He took a big nap this afternoon!
He is ready for game 2!

Funny things the kids have said this week...

Robbie gave me a quick goodbye kiss on my way out the door to work yesterday.
Hudson said, "Ewww!" I said, "What?" Hudson, "You can't kiss him....he's not in your family....he's your (thinking)....cousin!"

Lawson last night: "Buttons has a bad word in it. But, we can still say buttons."
She's right!

Then at dinner tonight: Hudson randomly says, "Dad, I can break crayons AND ham."Who knew?!

It snowed! Then it melted! :(

It started raining this morning...and then a few hours it turned into really wet snow. Which was really exciting and fun to watch ! But after about 2 hours it melted....which was really dissapointing! It just wasn't quite cold enough. It was just hovering around the freezing point! We were all set to go out and build a snowman too! Hopefully it will snow again soon!

We heart the Mavs!

Striving to be good parents, Robbie and I want to teach certain important truths into our children. We want to teach them to love God, love others, and to love the Mavs! Ha!
Luckily, "Santa" brought us all tickets to tonights Mavs game! We want to raise up good little MFFL's! (Mavs Fan For Life!) They are catching on quickly! Check them out!

The both were little sponges...taking it ALL in!

Word of the night: Free Goals! They both kept calling free throws "free goals!" Cute!

They sat in their for the entire game paying attention and cheering on the mavs! They kept asking if the game was almost over....not because they were ready to leave...but because they wanted to stay!
We got snacks at halftime.
After the game, I asked them what they liked best. They both answered, "the snacks!" I don't blame them getting a huge coke and a yummy snack is pretty fabulous!
They were really impressed with Mavs Man's slam dunks! And even though Dirk didn't play (very dissapointing), the kids were able to spot him in his street clothes.

The Mavs didn't win...but we had a great time anyway!
The kids were excited to see the "green" building and the Reunion Towel (ball) too!
It was a night they won't soon forget!
