Random Pics

We finally had an open Saturday and went to check out this cool playground across the street from our apartments.  It belongs to the Boys and Girls club who use it every afternoon after school.  My kids have been begging to go to daycare there rather than coming home from school with me...because of this playground.  Not sure how I feel about that! But, it is pretty cool!
Brady spent the weekend with us.  He was in town for one of his friends weddings.  Every spare minute he wasn't busy with wedding stuff he and Hudson were working on getting past a hard dragon on Super Mario Brothers.  It is a version of the game that is most similar to the classic Brady and I used to play as kids.  Hudson and I have been stuck on this one level for the past 2 weeks....Hudson has been holding out all hope that Brady would get us past this dragon!

And Uncle Brady did not dissapoint!  They did it!  Brady was the Hero!

Now we just have 5 more worlds!  Come back soon Uncle Brady!

Hudson's 6th Birthday Party

We are still new to living in Little Rock/Bryant...so I really had no idea what we would do for Hudson's birthday party this year.  I asked Hudson if he had any ideas of what he might want to do...and I was all ready to throw out suggestions...but he immediately said he wanted a skating party.  So, it was pretty easy to pull his party together from there.

His cousin, Morgan, has a birthday about a week after him.  She lives in Little Rock and she had decided to have a skating party as well.  When her mom and I talked we realized that we would both be planning skating parties on the same day...so we just went in together to rent out the skating rink and do their parties together.  Nice for the grandparents!
The kids still had seperate tables, cakes, invitations, gifts, etc.  It was just that the only people at the skating rink were people we had invitied.  Which was really cool!
And because it was a private party...you could make it an ALL WHEELS party...so you could bring skooters, bikes, etc to ride on the rink!  Which was even MORE cool!

Hudson and Morgan also got to put together their own playlist....so they got to skate to their favorite songs.  That was fun too!  Hudson has ony skated a handful of times...but he has caught on really quick.  Rob and I can't keep up with him on skates!

He celebrated with LOTS of family and some of his new friends from school!  He got lots of cool stuff!  And had a wonderful time!  Thanks to everyone for helping this day be a wonderful celebration!

I added up that this is the 14th birthday party I have thrown for my kiddos!  THAT makes me tired just thinking about it!  But, I'm just amazed that there are so many fun and different things to do!  Each party has had a personality of its own and I'm so thankful that God always provides an idea/venue that is SO just right for my kiddo at that time.  Hudson loved this party!

Happy 6th Birthday Hudson

6 years ago today...
this little guy (well, he actually wasn't very small...8-14)
joined our family and we have all been smitten with him since!

He is  passionate (does everything wholdheartedly...for the good or bad)and incredibly imaginative.  He isn't too worried about what others think.  Definately his own person!  Check out how he has decided to show "6" this year! His idea!

We started the day with a birthday waffle.  Robbie and I brought him lunch to school! He ordered a hot dog from Sonic.
He took us to his classroom to show us his birthday crown. It's good to the birthday king!

He is the star of the week in his class.  This is his cool poster he made hanging outside his classroom door.  He colored EVERY inch of this poster with markers.  In fact, I had to run to Target to get new markers so he could finish it.  He loves to draw and color and is quite the little artist.

After school, Nonie and Poppa came over for a birthday dinner and party. He chose Little Ceasars pizza for his birthay dinner and he ordered a soccer themed cake. Not really sure why.  He hasn't played soccer in 2 years!

He got a super cool electric razor scooter!  It is green...which is his new favorite color.  Since he was 2, his favorite color was orange...but he told us this month that he has been tricking us for the past 4 years.  That green was his favorite all along!  He might have a career in acting!

Hudson, you are so special.  You make us laugh and are a load of fun. God has wired you with amazing passion and emotion. You love  music, sports and art.  I know God wired you with a wonderful plan in mind!  I hope that you will continue to seek him and find yourself right smack dab in the middle of his best for your life.
Happiest Birthday!  I can't believe you are 6!
We love you!

Rob's 43rd

We decided to mix it up a little this  year and change Robbie's name to Robie for his 43rd year of life.  Depending on how much he enjoys being Robie, he may or may not go back to Robbie next birthday!
We had a fun birthday lunch with some friends after church to celebrate!
