Lawson's First Hunting Trip - Mom/Son Weekend

After Rob took Hud hunting, Lawson decided she wanted to give hunting a go.

She had a lot of fun but I think her hunting attention span was even shorter than her brothers! Poppa bought her pink noise reduction headphones an protective lenses.  And she was pretty excited about that!

Meanwhile, Hudson and I had planned some fun things of our own.  First up on our Friday night was Christmas light viewing. We got in our PJs, made hot chocolate and took off to see the sights.  Hudson barely made it to the first neighborhood before I looked back and found him like this!

The next morning we went to an event at the Bryant Fire Department.  Free Chic Fil A breakfast, Santa Pics, Chick Fil A Cows and firetrucks!  What a combo!

Then off for some bowling!  We bowled 3 games.  Hudson beat me 2 games.  So, he was the winner.  Then we picked up some Taco Bell and headed home to watch college football.  I was glad to have time to just hang with my boy.  Rob and La came home to join us shortly afterwards.

My little hunter before she left!  Here are a few more hunting pics.

La La...is that you with a gun?! She looks so versed!  Not a sight I expected to see! Your momma has never even shot a gun!

I'm pretty sure Lawson's main reason for wanting to go hunting was to see this dog.  Mogley.  So weird for me...my kids who have been terrified of dogs...have become dog lovers.  Which is good...except now they want one...which will not happen.  Sorry to be a dream crasher kiddos!

Why yes...she is driving Pappa's ranger ALL by herself!
Not to be out done by her brother...she cut down this tree all by herself!  I'm glad that my girlie girl wants to brave the wood and spend time with her Poppa and Dad.

Christmas Time is Here!

Christmas time is here?!  Already!  Can't believe it!  Didn't know if we would still be living in our apartment at Christmas time...but we are!  And somehow we were able to find our Christmas stuff in our storage building.
(Yikes!  You don't want to see our storage building...it would give you bad, bad dreams!  I really believe storage buildings are of the devil.  You laugh...and I do too...but I'm kind of not joking.  You pack all that junk into storage and then  pay a monthly fee.  I say junk because for the most part I rarely miss any of it.  Pretty much have everything I need in my apartment.  And just pay attention to how many storage building you see when you drive around.  We are paying so much money to store stuff we don't need...I'm sure there are some exceptions.  Judge me if you will...but I say storage buildings are a scheme of the devil! I can't until we buy a house and I can empty mine out!)

The kids put up their trees first.  They love doing this!  Now i know my kiddos are getting taller...but put them next to their little trees and it is super evident.  Look at Lawson...she is bending over at the waist to decorate hers!  She got this tree when she was 1...and couldn't begin to reach the top!

Next we got our big tree set up...and I was impressed that we had plenty of room in our living room apartment for a Christmas tree.  I had originally thought we might have to just get a really small one and set it on the kitchen bar this year.  We are really blessed to have an apartment that lives so large!

Time for the star!  And yes, we put it up and take it down and then put it up again...to let them both put up the star!  It's easier than dealing with the argument!

Awww...let the holiday begin!  Love the christmas tree at night!
More importantly ove that my God sent Jesus to save me from my sin.

Thanksgiving - Buie Side

We got back in town and got to spend another fun Thanksgiving afternoon with Rob's family.  Hudson had been just itching to rake some leaves.  Turner got him a new camou hat and gloves and he was set.  I thought he would tire out pretty quick with it.  Wrong!! he raked all afternoon..until he was called in to dinner...filling 5 bags!

nd he loved every minute!

 (Love that missing tooth!)

Lawson helped too...for about 10 minutes!  Mostly just enough to get in on the photos!

We then enjoyed this amazing spread!  Homeade Coca-Cola pot roast, green beans, cheesy potatoes, wild rice caserole, baked pineapple casserole, rolls.  And Judy was so sweet to get the kids Chick-Fil-A chicken strips!  This food was SOOOO good.  The pork roast just melted in my mouth!  Thank you, Judy, for treating us to this wonderful meal...and the left overs!  It was a wonderful day!

Meeting Gibson

So, since we didn't get to see Steph's clan on Thanksgiving we decided to load up the day after and go for a visit.  Brady and Valerie went with us!  And we were all smitten with sweet baby Gibson!

And this is what we spent our day doing...all trying to patiently wait for our turn with Gibson.

Pay NO attention to the screaming baby in the photo.  Gibson loves his aunt Natalie.  My turn just came right at feeding time and Steph was busy.

We had a blast playing with Chandler and Brooklyn too!  It's funny...I walked into the playroom and Lawson and Chandler were buddied up watching one show.  Hudson and Brooklyn were buddied up watching a different show on the Ipad.  Ishouldn't be suprised...Lawson will always be hanging out with the youngest crowd (running her mini daycare) and Hudson will always be running with the older crowd!

A big thank you to Eddie for cookie us ALL (12 of us!) lunch.  He cooked 2 different soups that were delish!  And thanks to Steph for letting us crash in on her just 3 days after having Gibson.  That's a lot going on and she was just business as usual!

Gibson, we LOVE you and are so thankful God brought you safely into our family.  Lawson has been praying for you..."that you would like your new world."  (Such a sweet prayer.) We hope you do too!

Thankful for Rob's new job and Rock Creek.
Thankful for my dad's new job.
Thankful for a lightening of my stress load.
Thankful for a good school for my kids to attend.
Thankful for good health.
Thankful for trees and fall colors.
Thankful for God's mercy in my life.
Thankful foor God's provision in our life during some rocky times.

Thank you, God, for giving me more than I deserve.

My mom outdid herself on the kiddie table this year.  She has been out of town and super busy...but yet she managed to have time to sew little chair covers with burlap hand stenciled monograms.  Really mom?!  How do you do it?!  SO cute!

And she stenciled these cuper cute glass candle votives that spelled "Thanks".  Really fun touches.

And then she put on this wonderful meal!  Thanks mom!  I know you spent hours cooking what took us 20 minutes to eat!

Of course, we kicked back afterwards and watched the Cowboys game.  But, we won't talk about that anymore...that did not end well for us!

It was a wonderful day.  (However, we did miss our Nalley peeps!  Baby Gibson was born 3 days before and they celebrated at home.)
