A Final Good Bye

On Hudson's 3rd Birthday, we said good-bye to his pappy for "anytime-he-wanted-it" se and only let him have it for bedtime. I was hopeful that by just cutting it back to bedtime would lead to him losing interest and he would just forget about it all together. I was wrong! That boy loves him some pappy!
So, here we are turning four and still sleeping with our pappy!
So, we have talked up the fact that 4 year olds are big kids and don't need pappys....even for sleeping. He has really grabbed on to this (much to my suprise!) and decided he wants to mail his pappy to the Wiggles! (Not sure why he came up with the Wiggles...but whatever works is fine with me!)
So, we packaged up all his pappys and put them in our mailbox this morning! And he was 100% cool with it! Thank you God!

(he looks a bit forlorn in this pic...but he really was good with sending them away...just tired of his mommy asking him to smile for pics!)
And as far as he knows, our mail man took them to the wiggles today!
He has done great without them (which completely floors me!).... takes him a bit longer to go to sleep without having one.

Kids Celebrate @ Keystone Church

"Make a joyful noise unto God. Sing forth the honour of his name; make his name glorious!"
(Psalm 66:1-2)
That is exactly what the Keystone Kids did tonight!
Lawson had the honor of participating in leading Kids Celebrate at our church tonight. The kids have worked SO hard for the past 6 weeks learning all the songs, motions and stage positions. And they did a great job leading their peers (and parents) in worshipping Jesus tonight!
Ready to go!

(I'm NOT taking a pic of the guy in the white...but of La on the risers behind him!)

I'm not sure when I have ever been in a room with this much energy! I'm SO glad that our church teaches us to worship our incredible Saviour with all we got!
Most of the mics belong to the adult leaders who sing with the kids on stage. On this song, Lawson got to help lead. This was a HUGE priviledge for her! She did great! (Their is a video below...its kinda dark but you can see her.)
Hudson sang pretty much word for word with the kids. He was captivated! This is such an incredible event at Keystone for kids. And for grown ups....worshipping with children is so awesome! I can just imagine Jesus as he watches (and chuckles!) the children sing praises to him.
Lawson and Blakely (cute name!)

(pause the music on my Playlist before watching this video)
Note: This is one of my FAV songs! Probably why she was chosen to sing on the mic. I bet she knew this song better than anyone else there! You probably do too...it was on my blog Playlist forever!

Happy Birthday Hudson - Home

The MANY sides of Hudson! At his home party, he used such good manners while we sang "Happy Birthday" to him!

Now watch the video on the next post....

Happy Birthday - Friend Party

I guess the pressure of his peers singing to him and giving him full attention was just more than he could take! And his "other" side came out! Yikes!

Hudson's BIG 4th Birthday!!

4 years ago today....
we met and fell in love with our Hudson!
The time has flown by....yet at the same time I can't really remember NOT having him in our family!
This birthday was such a BIG and FULL day!
We started the day off with his FIRST ever soccer game!

He did great! He scored 2 goals!
(one for us and one for them!)
Hudson's fan club!
Checkin out each other's kicks!
They realized that they all the same cleats!
Game time!
High five to the coach!
Kick off!
That face says it all!
He was so cute! EVERY time after his team scored a goal, he could come running full speed over to us and give someone in our family a high five and then run back out on to the field.
Being ALLOWED to pour water on his head was pretty big fun too!

Trying to figure out what walking through the tunnel to high five the other team is all about.
Then on to his birthday party. Hudson decided he wanted a Toy Story themed party this year. He is really into the Toy Story movies right now (AND I am too! The characters are SO cute!)

We had his party at Richland Hills Church of Christ which is so easy, inexpensive and perfect!
They have this great clean and neat facility with the largest indoor tunnel playscape I have EVER seen anywhere. A great area to eat and open presents. They have this wonderful lady who runs the party for you and cleans up afterwards! It's low stress and just fun!The kids LOVE it. You can't beat it!
The birthday boy!
Wearing their Toy Story T's

We were SO happy Baby Chandler could come to the party (and Steph and Brookly too!) La and I were needing some quality "Chandler" time!

They have this cute way of opening presents there. The child who brought the gift Hudson is opening gets to sit in the special chair next to him while he opens it. The kids really look forward to their turn to sit in the special chair. Everyone one else sits on the floor and watches. Kinda helps keep everyone's attention during gift opening time and makes it fun for the gift givers!
Brooklyn didn't want to sit in the chair when Hudson openend her gift...so Aunt Steph filled in!
The party coordinator had Hudson pass out his treat bags to his friends and tell thank them for coming to his party. It was really sweet!
Then spent some time at home playing with the new toys!
We got cleaned up and went to our normal Saturday night church.
Then out to eat a yummy mexican food dinner to round out the day. (And yes...Hudson insisted on wearing his new David Chicken hat into the restaurant. Not sure what people thought about him....but it made him REALLY happy...and arn't you supposed to be happy on your birthday?)
Hudson fell asleep in his carseat about 2 minutes after we left the parking lot of the restaurant. He did not wake up while I changed his clothes and tucked him in bed. He partied himself out today!
Happy 4th Hudson! We love you! Thank you God for this most precious and funny little boy!
