A Happy Halloween!

Spiderman and Strawberry Shortcake!
Not a classic duo....and yet it didn't competely kill me! (However, it was painful for me...I won't lie!) Hudson started requesting Spiderman about a month ago....and Lawson picked out her costume. This is the first year that their costumes didn't coordinate. (Previous years....Dorothy and the Cowardly Lion, Howie Mandel and a Case Girl, Mickey and Minnie) They looked adorable though! They were both super-pleased with how they loooked...in case you can't tell! And I had a lot of fun coloring La's hair pink!

And they Trick Or Treated in style!
Last year I remembered Rob and I carrying them about halfway through becauese they were too tired to walk. So, I had this idea! And it was brilliant....if I do say so myself! They had a blast driving themselves from house to house getting candy and hopping back in! Everyone was cracking up at them! I will never forgot following behind them and just reveling in how cute they were!

They both kept saying "this is fun, isn't it?" I think they really "got" this holiday more this year than previously. Last year, they weren't really sure what we were doing. (And I'm not sure I still know....dressing up, knocking on neighbors doors and asking for candy! Kind of a weird tradition!)

Tonight was the big game 5 of the Rangers/Giants World Series match up!

Check out this mans's baseball head!

We came home and cheered for our Rangers!

I took the kids to get a Halloween cookie cake at Albertson's and they saw this cake! Bless their little sports lovin' hearts! They wanted this above a holiday cake! Their dad is SO proud! I guess their fine upbringing is finally paying off!

Let the Pumpkin Carving Begin!

This is the first year I bought an actual pumpkin carving kit and attempted to actually carve our pumpkins. It seems like in previous years I just let the kids color or paint the pumpkins.
Lawson got right to work helping scoop out the freaky insides!
(yeah, I'm adding pumpkin to my "why do people eat this" list. Eggs #1, Pumpkin #2.
Hudson was content to watch us prep the pumpkins. He was not going to get his hands dirty!

However, Hudson was all into it when we got the pumpkin carving knives out!
The kit we used had stickers. The kids got to pick out their pumpkins face....eyes, nose and mouth. Hudson wanted an angry pumpkin and Lawson wanted a happy pumpkin. Sounds about right, doesn't it?

Happy Hudson & his angry pumpkin

Check out that pumpkin carving stance!

The final result! Not bad for rookies, huh?

Fear Conquered

No, I have NOT digitally inserted Lawson and Hudson into this pic with Chuck E Cheese! We went to a birthday party for a friend of Lawson's on Saturday and Lawson FINALLY conquered her life long fear of Chuck E Cheese!
Lawson got invited to her friends birthday party at Chuck E Cheese and so we decided to all tag along. Mostly as moral support. She really LOVES to celebrate birthdays but she is has always been super freaked out by the Chuck E Cheese mascot that walks around and visits with the kids. The fear seems to have gotten worse in the last few years. She used to love playing at Chuck E Cheese and then just tried her best to avoid the mascot. But now, as she has gotten older, I think the fear has just grown in her mind...to the point that she can't bring herself to go to Chuck E Cheese! Hudson has been saying he wants his next birthday party at Chuck E Cheese....so I wanted to encourage Lawson to be okay with going there. (So, she will be able to attend her brothers birthday party!)

So, after being a little clingy initally....she realized that hte mascot wasn't out and the kids had fun playing all the games!

Then, it was party time....and she got pretty tense because she realized that Chuck E would be coming out soon! She actually coudn't even eat her pizza!

Still tense....notice her smile

THEN Hudson decided he was going to give Chuck E five. And out ot the blue Lawson said. "me too!" She did it and just had this look on her face like "what was the big deal about that!' For the next 30 mins, La and Hud followed him around asking for hugs and high fives over and over! I'm sure Chuck E was G-L-A-D glad to see them go!
On the way out she said in the most teenage way..."If I get invited to another Chuck E Cheese party, I am SO going!"
And her and Hudson have both told me they want to have their next birthday parties at Chuck E Cheese! So, I guess that makes planning easy for me!

Hud's Soccer Pics

We got Hudson's soccer pics back today....
I'ts tough having the cutest kid on the team!

Random-ness

Hudson was drawing on our dry erase board tonight while I was doing some cleaning in the toy room. He said, "Mom, look! I wrote mine and Lawson's name." And he did! This is the best I have seen him write his name without any type of prompting or image to copy. I was SUPER impressed! And that he could spell Lawson's name! Way to go Hubson! :)
And I filled my fireplace with pumpkins! I love it!
The picture doesn't do it justice! Next year I'm going to paint big black polka dots and thick black stripes on some. And paint some black and glue on like 1" circular rhinestones! Blinged pumpkins! Fun! And add it some other colored gourds. It's just too late probably for me to start that project this year. But, this is a fun start!

La's First Grade School Picture

Is it just me...
or is she sweet enough to eat?!
(She is SO proud that her rainbow necklace is going to be in her school's year book. She was worried the photographer would not get her rainblow necklace in the picture. She is too funny!)

I 'heart' the Rangers (Today anyways!)

So, I am watching the big game 6 with Hudson (and yes, I shamefully admit I am a fair weather fan when it comes to the Rangers! I LOVE football and basketball....but baseball is painfully slow to me!)
Hudson says, "Come on Rangers! No outs so you can go to the 'Word Serious!" I didn't know he even knew anything about the World Series! Too funny!
Go Rangers! Let's win the 'Word Serious'!

Happy Fall Y'all!

Oh how we love to go to the pumpkin patch!
Hudson is just in ORANGE heaven! And Lawson and I love ANYTHING festive! And Rob....I think he likes it! He acts like he does anyway!

We went back to the Flower Mound Pumpkin Patch...because it is so fun and FREE!

Of course, she wanted her picture made next to the rainbow carebear!
In the maze!

Lawson remembered me taking her pic with all of these cut outs last year. If you know La, she is a TOTAL creature of habbit....so she wanted me to take her pic with all of them again this year. But, she did up her game a bit this year....she wanted to be holding a pumpkin in every photo. Hudson just wanted to play.

La is going to be Strawberry Shortcake for Halloween...so she was practicing her pose!

They even have a pumpkin bounce house!

The kids kept shouting, "we got ate by a pumpkin!" as they jumped!
