Little Rock Christmas

I love that we get Christmas in Little installments for several day!  So, here are some pics from our Christmas in Little Rock. Judy served us a wonderful meal...ham, green beans, delicious rice and pineapple casseroles and rolls and butter from Roadhouse!  Yumo!
Then we opened presents!
Followed by desserts!  No photos to prove that!
Lawson was able to hook up with her friend Anna while we were in town too.
We went bowling, went to a retro arcade, watched movies and just had a great time hanging out in Little Rock for a few days!

Days After Christmas

We had a fun time hanging out at Mimi's and Doo Dads house for a couple days after Christmas!
Love that we almost always get to celebrate Reese's birthday with all the Gibbs crew!
After lunch and presents, the girls took off to get pedicures while the guys napped and watched football at the house. Win win!
Happy 9th Birthday,Reese!

Christmas Day

The long awaited Christmas Day!

Again, the "no-earlier-than 7am" wake up time was placed in effect at our house!  And at 7 am Hudson came into our room wanting to know if he could wake up Lawson and see what Santa had brought! (Good thing we had called our little Santa Hunter off last night and made him go to bed so Santa could safely make his deliveries!) Remembering that before phones or messaging devices and when our bedroom was on the other side of the house from the kids, we used to have them bang on the wall that was shared between their room and ours to let us know that they were up and headed to the living room to see what Santa had brought!   Because we wanted to be in their to capture their reactions! I think that is what you call "old school"...that was like so " 2009"!

Santa did not dissapoint!  Lawson got a new bike, a vera bradley duffle bag, a new stuffed animal from Clear Water Marine Aquarium, Lokai bracelets and American Girl Doll clothes/accessories.

Hudson got a new nerf gun, a video drone, playstation games and a Golden State Warriors hat with Steph Curry's autograph embroidered on it!
Christmas is SO beautiful and SO messy!  Anyone feel me?
It was a beautiful Christmas morning so we went out to watch Hudson fly his new drone and went on a bike ride to try out Lawson's new bike!

Then we got dressed and packed up the car to head to Texarkana for more Christmas with my side of the family! It was a 5 hour drive for us from Bentonville to Texarkana.  The kids handled it like Champs.
Landry and Ashley were amazing hosts for our family Christmas get together this year due to the fact that mom had been helping Valerie and Brady in Houston until 2 days before Christmas Eve!
We read the Christmas Story every year and the kids act out the story with mom's custom nativity characters she made 30 years ago!  They are the cutest things you have ever seen!  Love, love, love them!  All the clothes are custom.  All facial features are hand stiched.  She poured hours into these figures!

The kids always really enjoy this...but I won't lie there are usually a few tears over the role they have been assigned!

Then we have birthday cake and since "Happy Birthday to Jesus"!
Then we open presents!

Then the playing commenced.  The girls put on makeup and costumes and planned a show.  The boys looked for ways to spy and chase them.  Just the usual!  Hudson did a few of his magic tricks.
Fun family pics!  Love "naughty" Reese in this pic...pretty sure she learned this face from her dad!

Love this one of me and Ash trying out our new shaws/scarfs mom gave us for Christmas so I thoguth I would throw it in too.  Steph had one too but she was busy on Gibson duty and didn't make the pic.
Check out the wild Christmas Weather we had this year!  It was a long, full wonderful day!

Christmas Eve

The kids were excited to get up early Christmas Eve morning because that is when we exchange gifts with our immediate family.  We have Chrismas Eve Services that evening and Robbie always has to go early for rehersal.  Then Santa bring gifts on Christmas morning.
I told Hudson that no presents would be opened before 7am...because I didn't want him waking me up at 5 am!  He set his alarm clock for 7 and left himself a note so he would remember why he set it!  Cracked me up!
Max leaves to head back to the north pole on Christmas eve.  He left them a little present the last day he was there.
It was the pieces for decorating a snowman...realistic looking but all made out of plastic.  So, it is reusable.  Just need some snow now!

Later that afternoon I walked into the kitchen to see Lawson slicing carrots.  I asked her what she was doing.  She said making "to go" bags for the reindeer!  She has mentioned several times this year that she doesn't belive in Santa Clause...so I thought it was funny that she was prepping food for Santa's reindeer!
Personalized treat bags at that!  She made one for each reindeer complete with spinach and hand sliced carrots! Fancy!
Rob had to leave around noon for rehersal.  We cleaned up and headed to the 4:30 service.
The candle lighting is always a special time to reflect on how God sent Jesus to be light to our darkness and how he commanded us to be the light of the world...sharing his love with those around us.  This was a beautiful service.
We came home and ordered pizza and watched The Christmas Story.  It's kind of become a family tradition for the last 3 years. We put the kids to bed (however...Hudson...aka Santa Hunter.... snuck out of his bed...stuffed it so it looked like he was still in it...hid behind the couch with a nerf gun waiting for Santa to arrive...and shoot him???) and waited for Santa.
I love the glow of the Christmas tree.  So peaceful.
Merry Christmas to all and all a good night!
