Rest of the Weekend

The rest of the weekend...after La's Baptism...was filled with more fun!
Hudson had quite the cheering section at his baseball game!
Then I think we spent about 3 hours at Cabellas.  Which was more fun for some than others! Ha!  I shouldn't complain...I look quite comfy eating homemade cherry fudge in my reclining lawn chair!  We looked so comfy we even had this man come up to us and start asking questions about the chairs... we ended up talking him into buying 4 chairs!  Cabellas should thank us!
The kids had a great time playing together the rest of the afternoon!

We all went to church Sunday morning and then had a nice lunch before everyone headed home. Thanks everyone for making this weekend so special for Lawson and our family!

Changed!

Rob and I have prayed and hoped that Lawson would find life in Christ alll her life.
However, we have wanted her salvation to come from her own passion about Jesus and not from us pushing or prompting her.
This prayer was answered this week at Keystone's Wild Week.  Lawson prayed to ask Jesus into her heart on Tues night and then was baptized today (Friday) in the most wonderful outdoor baptism celebration party!  We had real reason to celebrate!

Lawson was surrounded by SO many loved ones tonight who have been instrumental in leading her to this decision!  Mimi & Doo Dad, Nonie
& Poppa, Mom & Dad, Hudson, Rob & Lori, Mary, Morgan, Lilly and Hill.  (I SO forgot to take a group shot! Man!)

It was a big celebration!
New Life....plus popcorn, snowcones, cotton candy, bounce houses and a dance party!
We dance because....HE is good!
One of my best nights!

Gymnastics

Lawson has been taking gymnastics for about 2 years and Hudson has taken for about 6 months.  They love it...jumping and climbing...what's not to love?
Lawson has decided to try her hand at basketball this summer.  It will be her first time to play a team sport.  And Hudson has elected to play summer baseball.  So, we are gonna take a break from gymnastics for the summer.  Just for the sake of prosperity I thought I would post a few pics from their last class.

A Trip to the Ball Park

Lawson and Hudson have been brought up to love God, family, the USA and Dallas Sports teams!  And we think we have done them right!
With several Mavs games under their little belts, we thought a trip to the ballpark was in order.  Robbie scored some nice tickets from a co-worker.

Their first look at the field.
Of course, they got right to the important stuff!  Hot dogs and cotton candy!

Even though we were in the shade the entire time....it wasn't until about 9 that I was able to enjoy anything.  It was just SO hot! I admit that I am a die hard when it comes to the Mavs and Cowboys...but I am a fair weather fan when it comes to baseball. (The game just moves SO slow!)  However, I did enjoy the last 3 innings, winning the game, and the fireworks show after the game!

They are trying to smile...but it was hot!

Hudson soaked up every bit of the game.  He is such a little sportsman!

The fireworks show afterwards was uh-maz-ing!  Best fireworks I have ever seen!  The were shot from all sides of the stadium (so they can of wrapped around you), set to good country music and they turned off EVERY light in the stadium so the colors were so bright.
A fabulous way to end a Friday night!

Lawson's Basketball Debut

I was really suprised when Lawson decided to pause gymnastics for awhile and try her hand at Basketball!  I have to admit that I was a bit worried... because she is 8 now and has never played a sport.  I imagined that most other 8 year olds who were playing basketball had probably played before.  And I also imagined that most of the players would be boys.  And I didn't want her to get run over!
My fear grew worse when we pulled up for practice. I ONLY saw BOYS and they were HUGE.  My heart started to beat fast...and I seriously thought about not letting her get out of the car.  But, I would have to explain why I wasn't letting her out and I couldn't think of what I would say fast enough that wouldn't put a dent in her confidence.  So, we got out.
I was SO relieved to find out that the coach is coaching two teams:  an 11/12 yr old and a 7/8 yr old.  And the huge kids I was seeing were actually on the older team.  Sigh of relief.
Lawson did really well at practice and is one of the taller kids on her team.  She is a good shot too.  This is going to be fun for us!  She has never played a team sport! Go La!

Random Pics

Here are a few random pics from the last day of school and the start to our summer.
The kids finished Pre-K and 2nd Grade in All A style.  The both received kind words from their teachers regaurding their conduct as well!  Way to go La & Hud!
Look at the puffy....I just woke up...little smiles!

Let summer fun begin!  I am such a fan of the dress up performances!
Love the dramatic song performance has going on here!  And to be accompanied by David Chicken!  Wow!

We needed to cool off after one of Hudson's baseball games!  We talked about going to the neighborhood pool...but we never made it to the pool...who knew you could have so much fun with a bucket of water?!

Such concentration on the wordsearches.  Hudson may be cheating!
Not really...they had different word searches!
