June Randoms

Last day of school! Already?!

And just to compare...here they were on the first day of school! Love, love their little shadows on the garage door!
Headed to school one last time as 1st and 4th graders!
Little Miss All A Honor Roll for the 4th 9 weeks! Rather ALL year! Way to go La!

We celebrated Father's Day with Daddy and Poppa!  I whipped up a Pork Chops and Rice Casserole and Brownies for Dessert!  It was yummy! We love our Mens!

Got to see my Dad the day before! Loved him then...love him now!
Serious afternoon neighborhood nerf gun war! Beware!
The kids had a great time at Summer Spectacular at Rock Creek
Hudson was on the blue team at Summer Spectacular!  He dressed himself like this one morning! He is definitely all in! Go Blue!
Hudson learned about Michael Jackson in his music class right before school got out!  He is obsessed!  He had Robbie download all MJs hits on his iTouch.  He listens to them and watches him on you tube videos all the time!  The other day he came out dressed like this...struck this pose...and said "guess who mom?"  I was super impressed!  He raided the dress up clothes box and his closet and came up with this outfit!  The freaky part was I heard later that it was the 5th anniversary of MJs death.

These cuties!  The girls showed up dressed alike one day when they went to lunch with their grandparents.  I can't believe they got Hudson to cuddle up with his sister like this...especially in public!  So glad that took a pic...otherwise I would not have believed them!
 Love them!

Beach Trip 2014

Back to the beach!  It has been 3 summers since we beached...but we are back! We enjoyed three and a half days in Orange Beach, Fl with our friends, The Currys. We had the best time!
Jason and Robbie helped with stuff at our Church's youth camp...while Courtney and I suffered on the beach with the kiddos!

It was hot but the water was SO cool!

We packed our lunch most days so we could stay out ALL day!  Then came back out after dinner to hunt crabs.  We slept well!

These two were so cute!  They played together most of the time.  Hudson is all boy and usually doesn't play with girls...but Cameron is hard core and he enjoyed her company.

One day the water was really clear.  The kids caught and crab and several fish.  They were SO proud!

Lawson had a lot of fun hanging with Carson!

They were so fascinated and entertained with the things they caught in the ocean.

 Beach baseball!

One of the many crabs we caught.

Hudson dug himself a big ole whole one day...with a little help from Jason!

I was really glad to get to know Courtney better this week!  It was fun! We logged a lot of conversation hours pulling Life Guard duty! And we really never ran out of things to talk about!
Funny.  The kids really wanted to go out every night and catch crabs.  Well, Rob and Jason were at camp every every evening.  Courtney and I were not going to be catching any crabs but agreed to take the kids down to the beach and let them try.  I didn't hold out much hope they would catch anything.  But, I was wrong!  They caught 2-3 every night all by themselves.  You have never heard so much screaming though!

The kids befriended all the kids around us on the beach and formed a little "Beach Gang".  Here they are in another game of beach baseball.  It was great!  They were SO entertained!
We went out to lunch at the Wharf one day...and they kids rode this huge Ferris wheel!
 Wearing dad's swimsuit!

We decided to stay a few days after camp was over.  We were sad that the Curry's had to leave.  But, it just so happened that Rob's family was vacationing there the same week...so we surprised our kids with getting to see them and hang with them on the beach our last two days there.

They were staying at this resort that had this fun lazy river and waterslide.

This church was on the beach right next door.  I told Rob that he might need to see if they are hiring a Worship Pastor! LOL!

There was no life guard at the resort pool/slide.  So, it was pretty much a free for all!  Kids dream come true!
Our first afternoon there the waves really picked up!  They were huge!

The last night we went crab hunting we caught over 20 crabs in about 10 minutes!  It was crazy!
We all love sitting on the balcony!  We saw so many dolphins this trip...pretty close to shore.  We would see them in groups of like 20 and they would put on quite the show!

This was a "Jesus" head in the sand someone had made out of seaweed.  Kinda hard to see in the pic...but was very clear from our balcony.
We spent the 4th of July on the beach...which was really different and super fun! Watching fireworks from our balcony was so fun!
Hudson, our resident competitor,  talked everyone into a game of beach volleyball.
He was still wanting to play...when everyone else was about to pass out!

All good things must come to an end!  We won't wait 3 more years this time!

Packed up and ready to head home! The kids were amazing travelers!

Hudson slept until 9:15 the day we got home.  THAT's how you know it was a good vacation!
It was a 4th to remember!
