First Salt Bowl

Today, was the Big rivalry football game between Benton and Bryant...the Salt Bowl.  (Both cities are in Saline County.)  It is played at War Memorial Stadium in Little Rock.  We live in Bryant now.  We didn't go to the game last year....we were new to the community and not really in the swing of things yet! This year the kids have been SO excited about going to the Bryant High football games...and have really got in on school spirit.  The Bryant football players and cheerleaders attended the kids opening ceremony at school this week...and really pumped the kids up about the game! As you can see (above photo), Hudson even wrote about the game at school!
I was BLOWN away by the turnout!  I think every resident of Benton/Bryant must have been there!  They said there were 23,000 in attendance!
The kids saw lot of school friends there and had lots of fun!
We won the game! So, our first Salt Bowl was a blast!

Playing in the Rain...

Todays game got rained out BEFORE the game ever started.  The boys were so disappointed!  They obviously didn't mind getting wet...and we were all set to watch with umbrellas and rain boots!  But, it was raining SO hard you really couldn't even see 10 feet in front of you!
You have never heard so much squealing...as those boys getting to just run around in the pouring rain!

Even took a team pic in the rain!

Hudson's 7th Birthday!

We had Hudson's big birthday party last weekend....but today was his actual birthday.  THIS is what he woke up to...

Nothing like a little birthday prank to start the morning!
Then he came in to the kitchen check out his loot!

He got to open one present...it was an American Flag bracelet he had been wanting!  This boy has turned into a total bracelet junkie!  I really think he has more than Lawson and I combined!
 A birthday waffle!

After school, Nonie and Poppa came over.  I grilled hotdogs and burgers for dinner.  Then we opened gifts and had yummy cookie cake! (He is wearing a birthday crown he got at school!)

He got these super awesome green headphones and we pretty much lost all communication with him for the night afterwards.  He was listening to his tunes. I had to tap on his shoulder to get him to take them off so we could sing happy birthday to him!

Lawson got Hudson's teddy bear some really cute Spiderman PJ's at build a bear.  So, Hudson picked out PJs to try to match his bear.  Good night, Hudson! Can't believe your 7!
What we were doing 7 years ago today...
This is the first time we saw you!
You were a BIG baby!  8lbs 14ozs.  You look like you are ready to play football dude!

We all commented on how you just were just built like a boy.  Look at those baby man shoulders!

Oh....how I want to hold you and kiss your baby cheeks again!
Lawson was THE best big sister EVER!

You gave her all these fun toys as Big Sister Gifts!

Love it!! Could just eat you both for dinner!
A few days later, it was time to bring you home!

Lawson did NOT want to share you!

Lawson was always RIGHT where you were! She loved you and was so much help with you too!

You are one special little guy!  SO, blessed God chose to put you in our family Hudson! Happy Birthday Hudsy! We love you!
