"An Orange B with 2 Cold Sides..."

This was the strange request
I got from Hudson a few weeks ago!
We were driving in the car and he was holding his "blue B" (which is his satin blanket) and he said, "Mom, can we go to the store and get me a new orange B with 2 cold sides?" (You see one side of his blue B is chenille fabric which is NOT cool and the other side is satin which IS cool.)
Now, if you know Hudson you know that he LOVES orange and that he really has no use for the soft chenille side of his blanket. So, I guess this request isn't SO strange. But I had a really hard time convincing him that I didn't think we would be able to find a blanket like that anywhere.
Maybe that's because Hudson knows how crazy sweet his Nonie and Aunt Orlie (Lori) are!
After hearing his request, they MADE an "orange B with 2 cold sides" happen for him! PLUS, an orange satin pillow case! He was SO suprised and pleased!
Thanks Nonie and Aunt Orlie!

My Birthday Girl!

She informed me this morning that she is "72 months now!"
Not exactly sure how she knew that.

Welcome Spring!

This will probably be my most memorable first day of Spring!
God has a great sense of humor!

Lawson Funny

Lawson and I were out running some errands today.
She said, "Hey mom, when are you going back to the beauty shop to get your eyes whacked again?"
I think she meant....eyebrows waxed.

Lawson Funny

Lawson had just finished giving herself her bath tonight. She walked into the kitchen, and this was the conversation...
Daddy: "Wow, La. Your are just getting so independent. You do your own baths, you learned to tie your shoes. You need to stop growing up so fast. What are you going to need me for?"
La: (thinking...) "...to wipe my bottom."
Mommy: (Laughing!!!)

Happy "Greens-Patricks" Day! (as Lawson has been saying all day!)

I thought it would be fun to make cupcakes and green kool aid for our after-school snack today! It was pretty festive! The kids for sure enjoyed it!
Then the doorbell rang, and we got these SUPER cute cookies delivered from Judy and Turner!
Aren't they so much fun?!
It was another gorgeous day!
So we spent some time skating.
Then I probably got a bit carried away while I was cooking dinner.
(Note the green spaghetti noodles).
It was definitely one of my most festive St. Patrick's Days!

This was one of those (few) days...

... when the weather is warm but not too warm.
...you have time to air up the bike tires and take your kids on a bike ride.
...the sky is so "Colorado" blue that it doesn't look real.
(You can see it in Hud's glasses reflection.)
...your 6 yr old smiles because she can still squeeze herself into the baby bike seat.
...you're not too busy to play at the park.
... AND there is enough wind to fly your kite.

...that you just need more of.
(What is not captured in these photos is how right before we headed home, we managed to avert crisis. Lawson let go of her favorite rainbow kite. We all sat and watched it blow away until it just vanished in the blue sky. Rob and I were like, "Yep, that ought to bring us back to reality today!" Because we knew the meltdown that would ensue once she reazlied it was gone! We quickly hopped into the car and went to look in the neighborhood the kite was over when it disappeared. We had little hope to find the rainbow kite. We turned into the neighborhood; and, to our disbelief, saw 2 Jehovah's witness teenagers (dressed in their black and white) playing in the street with a rainbow kite. It was a funny site! They said they were just walking down the street, and this rainbow kite just descended out of the sky! They gave it back and all was well with La!)
What a day!

Weekend full of treats!

Rob's parents came to visit this weekend!
We didn't tell the kids they were coming.
It was such a fun suprise for them to be here when the kids got done with school on Fri!
Friday evening they took the kids out to McDonalds and treated Rob and I to a date.
We got to eat at Cheesecake Factory and go see a movie!
Needless to say, a fun time was had by all!
Then Saturday morning the girls hit Children's Place and the boys went to Cabela's.
Nonie and Poppa treated the kids with a bag full (a large bag full) of super cute new Spring clothes!
Lawson had a blast Sunday afternoon
"reliving" the shopping experience!
That's my girl!
Saturday afternoon we got to celebrate
our friend, Adia's, 4th Birthday!
She had a swimming party!
SO much fun!

Sunday night we went to Kids Celebrate at our church.
This is a high energy praise and worship service geared for the kiddos.
It is SO much fun!
The kids get to jump around and dance
as they worship their Creator!

Like I said...
A weekend FULL of treats!!!
