Annual trip to see Miss Pattycake

We made our way to Prestonwood Baptist Church in Plano tonight for our 3rd Annual trip to see a Miss Pattycake in concert.
As soon as she started, our kids just popped up and got busy with the motions.
(Notice everyone else is still sitting!)
We have been watching her DVD's since Lawson was 1. My good friend, Tiff, introduced us to Miss Pattycake. And even though a little of her goes a long way for Rob and I, we all love Miss Pattycake because while she entertains our kids she teaches them about God's love!
Luckily no one went INTO the church's fountain!

Here are the kids talking with Miss Pattycake after the show.
She is SO nice to spend time talking to ALL the many kids!

Rob's New Venture

Rob is planning in starting a lawn mowing business
this summer.
He is working on getting some business.
If you or someone you know needs a great lawn guy,
let us know!
Rob's parents spent the weekend with us.
They came down to deliver a trailer they are going to let Robbie borrow to haul his lawn equipment in. Turner, Rob and Hud were busy prepping the trailer for Rob's new business.
Rob's sister was even generous enough to loan Rob a really nice self propelled lawn mower!
Our family is just AMAZINGLY generous toward us!
Thank you family.

Progress Report

Nonie and Poppa sent this ADORABLE Edible Fruit arrangement delivered to SS Noah for Lawson this week! She loved eating the fruit and showing the smiley face balloon wearing band aids off to her friends!
Lawson has done so well this week! The doctor ordered unlimited popsicles for her...and she has cashed in on this! She has probably had 25 popsicles this week!

I am certain she is the best little patient in the world.
She has followed all her doctors orders without a bit of objection or complaining. The doctor recommended she not return to school until next Monday. So she got to go to work with me. I am so thankful that I have a job where I can bring my kids with me. I think being around the other kiddos helped keep her mind occupied and off of any discomfort she might have. She had a few unexplained emotional crying episodes during the week but I think those were a side effect of the codeine she was taking. She changed to just taking regular tylenol for pain on Thursday. And then starting today (Saturday), she is completely drug-free. She is excited about going to school next week. She has missed Ms. Blair and all her friends!

Run.....

...(don't walk) to see this movie!!!
I haven't laughed this hard at a movie in years!
Rob's parents treated us to a date night of our own tonight.
We ate my favorite thing in the world...Alice Springs Chicken from Outback.
Then we did some window shopping as we strolled through Southlake Town square.
It felt just wonderful out.
Then we laughed our faces off at the movies!
Fun, fun night with the Hubs!

Suprise!!!

Lawson went IN to surgery looking like this....And
came OUT looking like this...

Apparently, the doctor knocked her tooth out while he was prepping her mouth for surgery!
They returned the tooth to us in the recovery room.
Lawson still has it. She hasn't decided if she is going to give it to the tooth fairy or not. She saw a Yo Gabba Gabba (Nick Jr. Show) on TV one time that had a rather spooky tooth fairy character on it. She says she doesn't really want that lady coming in her room while she is asleep! I saw the episode and can't say that I blame her! But luckily Daddy knows the tooth fairy's cell number. So when she decides she wants to let her come, we can call her and tell her!

I have kinda dreaded Lawson losing her baby teeth. I just knew it would REALLY make her look older. And yep, it does!

:(

She can't wait to go back to school and show her friends and teacher so she can be added to the "I lost a tooth" chart in her class.

Lawson Minus Her Tonsils and Adnoids

We have spent the last part of this week gearing up for Lawson's tonsilectomy and adnoidectomy.
My mom came into town yesterday to be here to keep Hudson and help us out over the weekend while we are at the surgery center. She brought some fun goody bags filled with clothes, books, and a movie for each of the kids!
Then she brought in this CRAZY cute and SUPER thoughtful goody basket from Aunt Ash, Uncle Landry, Reese, Cannon, Palmer and Griffin.
Lawson had a blast going through it! They thought of everything!
New PJ's, rainbow socks and house shoes to wear while she was recouping.
Coloring books, story books and stickers to keep her busy.
Jello, pudding and a sonic gift card for milk shakes too!
What a perfect care package! Thanks guys!
Here she is showered and ready to go!
Here she is all settled in and reading her hospital bracelet.
I'm glad that I have such a brave and pleasant little patient. Makes it SO much easier on me!
Here she is minus her tonsils and adnoids. Oh yeah...they also made a last minute decision to put a tube in her right ear. There has been fluid in that ear for the past few months.
Let the sleeping begin!
Headed for home.
She slept for the next 20 hours! (She would wake up to take her medicine, grab a sip and then pass back out.)
She has done suprisingly well. The doctor painted a picture of a pretty tough recovery...with much pain and crankiness. That has not been the case for us so far. She has been drinking well and has even eaten some mac-n-cheese and a soft breadstick. She was up and about on Saturday. We even had to remind her not to run.
(She is still taking her pain medication though.)
We are SO thankful for everyone's thoughts, gifts and prayers!
Thank you, God, for giving wisdom to our doctors and nurses wisdom.
Thank you, God, for giving Lawson strength, a positive mindset and healing her little body quickly!

Hudson Funny!

Hudson was playing out on the back porch.
He ran inside and said...
"Mom! Look! I have a sock in my hole!"
Translates to "Hole in my sock."
Hilarious!

Happy Easter!

Easter lunch at Dickey's!
The best place for Easter lunch...if you aren't cooking at home!

Lawson isn't pleased with her outfit at all!!
Ha!

There arn't quite as many pics of Hud....he doesn't really "feel" taking pics much these days.
His outfit doesn't photograph as well as La's does.
But, trust me...he was adorable!
Rob read the story of Easter to the kids this morning.
"He rose again 3 days later." - Notice Hud's little "3".
And here is the Easter Egg fun that was had this morning!
Lawson usually has a little sign on her door knob that says "No boys allowed."
Last night she thought of the fact that she should take it down...so the Easter Bunny could hide eggs in her room! Good thinking La!

Ready for Easter...If we can get Lawson well!

We got our Easter Eggs ready for Mr. Easter Bunny to hide for us tonight! I let the kiddos pick out their own egg dying kits.
Hudson picked out an egg spinner kit. It's really cool...as far as the kids really enjoy it and it doesn't make a huge mess. And La picked out a tye dye egg kit (because she thought the picture on the front of the box looked like rainbow eggs. We all know that girl LOVES her some rainbows!) It was kinda high maintenance, but the colors turned out really vibrant.
Hudson got to enjoy an egg hunt at SS Noah Playcare (where I work and he goes everyday). It rained....so we had to do the hunt indoors. It was still a lot of fun!
Lawson hunted eggs at her school too! (But we have no pics from that event.)
Then Lawson came home from school sick. We took her to the doctor, and she has strep throat for Easter! :( After a round of antibiotics and a 4-hour nap, she felt better.

We opened an Easter goodie package from Mimi and Dood Dad!
They got fun art projects to enjoy and keep them busy!
On Thursday, we got a darling Easter delivery from Nonie and Poppa!
Tonight we are going to make Resurrection Cookies.
We will put them in the oven before bed!
Then on resurrection morning, we will open the oven and see that the cookies have risen!
Just like Jesus!

He is RISEN, HALLELUJAH!
