Our Weekend

We had a lot of fun things going on this weekend! To start with, Rob and I got to go out and see this movie! It did NOT dissapoint! It was SO funny! I love to laugh!
Lawson was involved in Kids Celebrate at our Church this weekend. This is such an incredible, high-energy worship experience for kids...and adults too! She loves being apart of it. She has put many hours into learning the songs and motions. And she did a great job!
There is just SO much movement and lights...my pics all turned out blurry! But, you get the idea.
Thank you, Keystone, for teaching my daughter how to worship her creator. May she always sing praises to him.
Hudson had another basketball game this weekend. He had some special visitors come watch him play!
Unfortunately, the Wildcats could not pull off a win this wekend. This was their first loss. Hud got his first assist today! (Which is a huge concept!) And scored 8 points!

All Things Valentines

Here we are before school today. We had the happiest perfect Valentine's Day!
Here is a flashback to the three of us before school 3 years ago! Somebody has been doing some growing...hopefully not me!
I got to go to Lawson's Valentine's party at school. Such a treat for me! I LOVE seeing where she spends her days and watching her interact with her friends.
The kids get SO excited about passing out and receiving Valentines. It was SO cute!

Lawson won the Bingo game too! Her eyes just lit up! I can relate....it's not everyday you win bingo!

When we got home from school, we made chocolate dipped strawberries. This was the first time I have attempted this endeavor....and it WON'T be the last. I thought the kids would LOVE them because they love strawberries. They both ate one...and weren't so sure. Rob tasted one and thought it was fabulous! And sadly enough, I polished off the rest within 24 hours! I couldn't stop myself. Had a few for dessert after breakfast, lunch and dinner the next day! SO easy and SO yummy! The kids did have fun making them at least.

They got some fun Valentines goodies from their grandparents and from us. The weather was gorgeous. So, we partied outdoors.

One of the most exciting parts of the day, were the heart shaped pizzas we had for dinner! Super fun!

And Rob hooked me up with a few of my favorite things....Cookie Cake!
And red roses!
We love.

Daddy Daughter Dance 2011

You saw the preview of the attire...here are a few of the accessories...
Rob and Little La set out on their 5th Annual Daddy Daughter Dance! Lawson SO looks forward to this event all year. It's such a fun big to-do....buy a dress, shoes, nail polish, etc. Just fun!
She is at an age where I still want her to look 6, but she SO loves to look and dress grown up! I think we were able to meet in the middle on her "look"! (Love her missing tooth! SO first grade!)
Of course, I think she is just darling all the time. But, when I spend time curling her hair and putting on a little eye shadow and lip gloss on her...I can just envision her grown up...and she is just gonna be one gorgeous lady! Those brown eyes!
Can you tell she was pleased with herself?!?
She is definately a party girl!
Just look at those locks! And this event is the ONE time a year we splurge on hair glitter (because it takes us the rest of the year to get rid of it from everything in our house!)
Rob had a hard time getting many pictures of her...because she was on the move! She had such a good time reuniting with some old friends she hadn't seen in a long time! They picked up right where they had left off!

She LOVES these girls! She has known them since she was 15 months old.

BTW...Rob did get his ONE dance with Lawson! Here are some clips of her dancing with her "girls!"

In past years, she has come home with flat hair, sweaty with eyes glazed over. Just completely worn out. But, this year she came home looking stellar and ready to jump on my bed and tell me all about her evening! Oh, may it always be that way with her and I. (Rob and I will be sparkling...from her hair glitter...when we get up each morning until the sheets get changed next. Oh, well...we could use a little sparkle I'm sure!)

DE-FENSE!

After battling the flu for the past 4 days, Hudson is finally feeling better and was able to make his double header today! It was good timing because it was picture day too!
The boys actually started to played some defense today and several of them (including Hudson) started passing the ball to one another when their defender had them blocked. It is really excited to see these little guys progressing in their game!

Hudson was obviously weak from being sick. When he was warming up, he wasn't even getting the ball up high enough to go in the goal. But, he hung in there...through BOTH games. Which is no suprise...if you know him at all! He was the only one on the team that played all four quarters of both games. That boy loves him some hoops!
Here were the game scores...courtesy of La and her lovely rainbow scoreboards.
Hudson scored 8 in game 1.
Hudson scored 12 in game 2.
Most of the kids on his team were just not "in" to playing a second game. At one point in the 4th quarter, Huson was the only one on his team playing. I wish I would have gotten a shot of him driving to the rim...1 on 5!
Way to go Hudson!

Lawson is MOST excited about these shoes....because they have heels! And they make a clicking sound when she walks!

A House Divided

Our little sports lovin' family enjoyed a private superbowl party!
We are very anti-social when it comes to watching the superbowl! Everytime we have hosted or gone to a superbowl party, we just miss to much of the game or the commercials. So, we opt to watch it home alone with our DVR in case we need to rewind anything.
Anyways, we all decided who we would be rooting for and it was an exact split!

The kids went to bed at half time, but were quick to ask the next morning who had won the game. And Lawson (of all people) doesn't want to erase the game from our DVR! Oh, how I love that my children love sports!

On a complete sidenote, I heard that the SuperBowl Champion Green Bay Packers stayed here. At the Omni Mandalay Hotel in Los Colinas.

Check out the cute (90's cute that is) little honeymooners who stayed at that same hotel in way back 1996!
(I showed Hudson this last pic...he had NO idea who it was!)
