Moving

106 Medinah was good to us.  We lived in the top right apartment for almost a year.  Their were pluses and minuses.  The kids shared a bedroom which was a new experience for them.  It worked great....wouldn't want to do it forever...but it worked. We enjoyed no maintenance or yard work.  I could clean the entire place in about 30 minutes!  Mine and Robbie's bedroom was super small...Robbie jokes that he could roll out of bed into the bathroom.  What is funny...is that he really could!  I loved having the gym and the pool.  I did not love carrying the groceries up the stairs, the buggy front porch, or getting the kids out to the car in the rain.

We got everything moved out and said goodbye...and then said hello to 901 Hunter Lee.

Happy 1st Spiritual Birthday La!

It was a year ago today that La asked Jesus into her heart!  She celebrated by baking herself an anniversary cake! She baked and iced it completely by herself! And it was yummy!

Another happy day!  SO, blessed that Lawson and Hudson have recognized their need for a savior and have the rest of their lives to receive His grace and show His love to others.

You just never know...

June 1, 2013.
It was a rainy Saturday.  Baseball concession stand duty and a birthday party got cancelled.  We hung around the house and then when out to eat BBQ for dinner. Afterwards, the kids got in their PJ's and crawled in to bed.  Robbie and I sat down to watch TV.  Just a normal day.
Then...
Hudson called Robbie in to his room.  Rob went to see what he needed.  I assumed it was the usual bedtime stall routine.  About 10 minutes later...Robbie came out carrying Hudson.  I immediately thought...Oh, he must be sick.  Robbie said, "Go tell Mom what you just told me." Hudson told me that he had prayed to ask Jesus to be the boss of his life! Wow!  I was taken by surprise! So happily surprised!  I have prayed for Hudson's salvation since he was born...but it was such a normal day...didn't see it coming today!  We talked it all through with him and asked him questions.  He seemed to fully understand his decision. We prayed again to thank God for his rescuing love and incredible grace.  Hudson wanted to be baptized immediately...as in the next morning! We couldn't quite pull that off...but scheduled it for the following Sunday.  Unfortunately, he was super sick the next Sunday.  So, he had to wait 2 weeks...and that make the baptism fall on fathers day! How special!
It was a wonderful day...supported by family!

It was so funny...as we were waiting for the baptisms to begin...we could hear the music from the auditorium...Rob and Hud were both tapping their right feet to the beat of the music.

Happy Day!  The Buies are ALL IN!

We went out for lunch at Razorback Pizza for video games, pizza and Cookie Cake!  Perfect way to celebrate baptism and Father's Day!

Then home for and time to give Rob and few Father's Day gifts! Thank you, God, for your undeserved goodness in our lives!

Fun Weekend

We made a quick trip to Dallas to go to a friend's wedding and Steph and Eddie were so kind to host us!  We got to babysit Friday morning while Eddie had a little surgery.  These kids had so much fun playing together...I didn't have to do much!  Just look!

Hudson schooling Gibson on some menz fashion!

LOVE how they are looking at each other!

Lawson helping all the girls with their hair.

 Lawson teaching B about rectangles!

 Game Time!

And ALL that before lunch!  When Steph and Eddie got home, we went out to the Harbor for some lunch on the patio.  I'm SO glad we got to go there with them this year!  It was our 3rd annual trip!  It's so fun! We let the kids play in the fountain afterwards.  They thought it was fabulous to get wet in their clothes!  (Sidenote:  This made me feel like a REALLY good mom....like I'm so impromptu or something....because it goes against ALL my maternal instincts!  Stay clean! Stay dry!  Not today!)

Then Rob and I cleaned up and took off for the wedding!  (leaving Steph with 5 dirty, hungry kids, and Eddie on pain killers!  She's a trooper and rocked it! Thanks Steph!)
We had a wonderful time at the wedding catching up with SO many friends from our past in the Dallas area!  The wedding was beautiful!  Love the joy on these faces!  Niki was beautiful!  I heart weddings!

These two...

(Just stumbled across this old post I left in my drafts from about 2 years ago...how SWEET are they?!)

...make me smile...at least ONCE everyday!
Thank you, God, for allowing me to be their mom.
Help me to honor YOU in the way I raise them.
Forgive me when I fall short. (which is often!)
Lawson and Hudson...I hope you have memories of loving to play together when you were small.  May you always love each other!
I LOVE you!
Mom
