January Randoms

Lawson is continuing into basketball season with cheer.  Really enjoys it!

Lawson's cartwheel is getting so good!

And Hud is back to basketball!  His team in the Kangaroos!

This little girl is rocking 5th grade!  They had their 1st Semester Awards ceremony.  She won three awards:  A/B Honor Roll, Perfect Attendance and Citizenship Award.  Way to go, Lawson!  So proud of how hard you have worked and the way you carry yourself.
Lawson and some of her good friends!  Really sweet group!

40?! Me?!

Can it be?  The big 4-0 for me?!
My birthday was on the Monday we went back to school/work from Christmas Break!  That's kind rough!
But, we celebrated ALL weekend long!  Started with a birthday dinner with Judy and Turner on Saturday after the kids games! Then another birthday lunch after church on Sunday.  Then Rob grilled me a wonderful steak dinner on my actual bday!

I'm really not upset about turning 40.  When I turned 30, I remember thinking there are so many cool chics in their 30s....Kelly Rippa, Jennifer Anniston and J Lo.  I'm just joining the club!  And now we are all still cool  and in our 40s together!  And yes, I realize that they do not know our club exists! Ha!  But, it helps me age peacefully!
I am so thankful for the blessed life I have.  It isn't perfect but is blessed!  Have so much more than I deserve!
Evidently Hudson is taking me turning 40 pretty rough though!  Ha!
Off to work on my bday!  During the day, my sister and mom treated me to some facebook fun.  They posted these pics of me on fb.

1st Birthday
 10 Years Old
 20 Years Old
 30 Baby
40!  And I think 40 may be my best look yet!  Definately better than 10! Ha!

And my sister wrote me the most amazing poem!  She had my family all text her things they think of when they think of me...and she somehow weaved all their thoughts together and made them rhyme!   don't know how she does it!  She says its fun!  I would cry if I had to write a poem!  Seriously!

They pretty much nailed me! Thanks everyone! And after reading it, I think I'm a bit quirkier than I realized!

Happy 40th Birthday, Nat!
That's 40 years of loving life!
And in those years so many roles,
daughter, sister, mother and wife.
How would we describe you?
Where would we even start?
The happiest girl on Earth
Wth big teeth, big calves and BIG HEART!
A girl that could live on twizzlers and carrots
And a Tervis of Iced Tea
While doing Pinterest on her IPAD
And simultaneously watching TV.
The Minivan/Working/Super-mom
That NEVER lets her kids down.
The hair twirling, text-messaging, work-out queen,
The best bargain shopper in town!
A lover of Dallas sports...
Especially the COWBOYS and the Mavs.
The most loyal fan she could be
Thru the good times and bad.
One might also describe you as chatty...
So REASONABLE and clever
Which is why you've never lost an argument.
Not one. Ever.
You're a God-loving, ice-crunching daughter
And an example-setting BIG SIS,
Hope your 40th is FABULOUS!
And you get just...AS YOU WISH!
Spent my actual birthday evening with my favorites....my family, my pjs, yummy dinner, presents,  fire in the fireplace and my Mavs!

Rob stood outside in frigid temps wearing a spotlight on his head to grill me these steaks!  That's love! This dinner was delish!
Thank you, everyone, for making me feel so special!
So far, 40 has been fabulous!!
