January Randoms

The last Saturday of Spring Break was a beautiful day and we decided to venture out a little all the way to Bella Vista.  I had heard about walking trails that led to a waterfall on the Tanyard Creek trail.  I was more entusiastic about going than the rest of my crew...until we got there.  The kids had a blast!  There were unlimited rocks to be thrown into streams everywhere and all kind of water puddles and streams to walk through!  And although La and Hud are getting a little older, today proved they are still kids at heart!

The picture doesn't do it justice...but the waterfall did not dissapoint!

It's kinda a miracle that no one fell in!
A few days later...this happend....
the Big 41 for me! And Brady!  My mom found some fun throw back pics of us growing up...on our shared day!

All I can say is:  hair-check!  red nails-check!  big eyebrows - check! This 80s girl had it going on!

I had a great birthday...even though it fell on one of the busiest days of the week...we managed to squeeze in a party!  Rob picked up Outback Steakhouse on the way home and had it waiting for me when I got home from taking Lawson to tumble.
And of course we had cookie cake!  My fav!  And mom sent me this pic from my 10th bday when I had a cookie cake.  Maybe that's where it all began!

I love seeing pics that Lawsons' teachers post from school.  Love getting a glimpse of what her day is like.  And isn't she the cutest kid?!

Lawson's cheer team is working hard for competitions coming up in March and April in Kansas City.

I cooked a pork roast one night and literally just threw it on plates for dinner.  When I sat down....I was like "this is magazine pretty!"  so I took a pic.  I always feel a little pride when I get up at 5:30...leave the house at 7 with everyone's lunch boxes packed...work a full day...hit the gym...run the kids to practices and then serve a home cooked meal to my family.  Certainly doesn't happen everyday....but I feel like a good "mom" when it does!

Robbie and Hudson watched all 6 Star Wars movies to catch Hudson up so that they could go see the new Star Wars movie.  They said it was really good.

Hudson has started basketball practice.  His season starts on Jan 30.

Although the season has been relatively mild, we have had a few frigid mornings this month and a few snowflakes!

My new nephew, Tyler Joseph, was born on December 16.....2 months early!  He weighed 4-15.  He is still in the NICU....doing great...just working on getting strong enough to eat.  He has a feeding tube right now.  We are praying for him and hoping that Brady and Valerie will be coming home very soon!  Wecome to the family sweet Tyler!
Twice this month this has happed...a sibling game of basketball.  One Sunday it went on for like 2 hours and did not end in a fight!  Not sure weather to feel happy or worried...because this is definately out of the norm!  And even though the rattled the second floor of the house until every nerve I had was shot....I let them continue because they were having so much fun!

Hudson's first basketball game of the season!  He is #11 for the Eagles!  They won 16-12.  He scored 8 points, had 5 rebounds, 2 assists and 1 steal!  Way to go Hud!  He had a lot of fun!

After the game we had lunch and hung out on the square for awhile.  It was a warm winter day and the ice rink had water an inch deep on top.  We sat and watched and cringed as we saw people fall down.  They were soaked!
