Christmas Eve

The kids were excited to get up early Christmas Eve morning because that is when we exchange gifts with our immediate family.  We have Chrismas Eve Services that evening and Robbie always has to go early for rehersal.  Then Santa bring gifts on Christmas morning.
I told Hudson that no presents would be opened before 7am...because I didn't want him waking me up at 5 am!  He set his alarm clock for 7 and left himself a note so he would remember why he set it!  Cracked me up!
Max leaves to head back to the north pole on Christmas eve.  He left them a little present the last day he was there.
It was the pieces for decorating a snowman...realistic looking but all made out of plastic.  So, it is reusable.  Just need some snow now!

Later that afternoon I walked into the kitchen to see Lawson slicing carrots.  I asked her what she was doing.  She said making "to go" bags for the reindeer!  She has mentioned several times this year that she doesn't belive in Santa Clause...so I thought it was funny that she was prepping food for Santa's reindeer!
Personalized treat bags at that!  She made one for each reindeer complete with spinach and hand sliced carrots! Fancy!
Rob had to leave around noon for rehersal.  We cleaned up and headed to the 4:30 service.
The candle lighting is always a special time to reflect on how God sent Jesus to be light to our darkness and how he commanded us to be the light of the world...sharing his love with those around us.  This was a beautiful service.
We came home and ordered pizza and watched The Christmas Story.  It's kind of become a family tradition for the last 3 years. We put the kids to bed (however...Hudson...aka Santa Hunter.... snuck out of his bed...stuffed it so it looked like he was still in it...hid behind the couch with a nerf gun waiting for Santa to arrive...and shoot him???) and waited for Santa.
I love the glow of the Christmas tree.  So peaceful.
Merry Christmas to all and all a good night!
