Our Big Summer Vacay

We took off Sunday morning and met up with Rob's family at this AWESOME lake house on Lake Hamilton! We spent 4 days there. It was SO relaxing and nice!! We had the best time! It was a great set up....you have the lakeview with a boat slip on the backside of your home and the pool located outside the front door! It's a win-win! Thank you Judy and Turner for providing such an incredible place!
SUNDAY
We arrived around 3:30, got unpacked and settled in. Lori's friend, Bryan, came over and cooked us an amazing dinner! My taste buds thank you, Bryan!! The kids had fun playing with some new toys that Rob's mom bought them, playing Wii and playing air hockey.
MONDAY
We got our sunscreen on and headed out for a morning of Jet Ski riding out on the lake and a picnic lunch and afternoon spent at the pool. The pool area was SO lush and beautiful! I felt like I was in the tropics somewhere!

TUESDAY
We rented a party barge and spent all day Tuesday out on the lake jumping in the lake off of the boat, swimming, riding jet skis and tubing. Oh yeah....and snacking! How could I forget! It's my kids' favorite part of riding a boat!

We went out to dinner at one of our favorite Hot Springs restaurants, Fisherman's Wharf. Even though it is a little hot (they have lots of big fans that help), we LOVE eating out on the their porch that is over the lake. It seems so festive, and the kids LOVE feeding the swarms of huge catfish, ducks and turtle that swim up. Thanks for treating us to fabulous dinners, Judy and Turner!

My kids were exhausted every night after days of fun in the sun. Notice they are sleeping in almost the same position!
WEDNESDAY
We rented a party barge again for the morning, and then spent the late afternoon back out at the pool.

Lori and her girls headed home after lunch, and so it was just Lawson and Hudson at the pool. They had a big time playing together while mommy took it easy poolside.

Eating popsicles in the pool....it's a rough life!
THURSDAY
We spent the morning packing up and traveling up to Rob's parents house in Little Rock. Then Bryan treated the girls to pedicures! It has been a LONG time since I have enjoyed a pedi! It was a wonderful treat! Thanks, Bryan!

The final results!
We even got nail art!
And if this wasn't enough....Lori's friend Bryan treated us all to a private suite at a Arkansas Travelers baseball game!
We ordered up pizza, nachos, hot dogs and chicken strips for dinner! It was yummy! Thanks for dinner, Bryan and Turner!
Then Bryan treated the kids to GI-normous snow cones!

Bryan treated Hudson to a baseball jersey just like the ones the Travelers were wearing that night....since Hudson didn't get in on the afternoon pedicures. Hudson was SO excited about the jersey! Thanks again, Bryan!
FRIDAY
We left Little Rock and headed to spend the night with Mimi and Doo Dad.
We had a playdate with Ashley and Landry's kids in the afternoon which was a lot of fun! Then we had Reese (Ash and Landry's oldest) come join us to go out to eat and for a sleep over. The kids enjoyed this a lot (probably a bit more than the adults did! Ha!). Thanks for dinner, mom and dad!

And of course, they played McDonalds. (Side note: My mom bought McDonalds for about $20 when Toys R Us was going out of business in Texarkana about 4 years ago. It has proven to be the best $20 ever spent! Our kids have logged hundreds of hours playing "McDonalds".)
Doo Dad is probably the best "sport" at being the kids McDonalds customer! Way to take one for the team, Doo Dad!

This was Hudson's first real bonding experience with his cousins, Palmer and Griffin. They wrestled each other and laughed for about 30 minutes straight! Hudson was so impressed that "babies" (as he calls them) like to wrestle!
SATURDAY
We headed back to Keller....but made a fun stop at Steph's (my sister) baby shower in Mesquite. It was so cute and the food was yummy! She got lots of cute things for baby Chandler!
We met up at Steph's house to ride to the shower with her. Eddie had grilled burgers for everyone for lunch! They were so yummy! Thanks, Eddie! Then Lawson, Steph and I took off for the shower. Eddie, Robbie, Hudson and Brooklyn hung out at Steph's during the shower....and ALL of them slept the entire time!
Lawson asked to use my camera to take some pics at the shower....so I let her. As I was uploading the pics for this post, I saw the pics she took for the first time. Hilarious! I have said it before....she LOVES parties and she focuses on the details! Check out her pics! (Steph, I bet even you don't have pics of this stuff....you may need to download them! You won't want to forget the nuts and plates you had at your shower! Ha!)

This was a super fun week! Thanks to everyone who treated us to so many nice dinners and treats this week! This was one of the longest and fullest vacations I can remember! We got to spend time with almost everyone in our families! What a treat! (Sorry we missed you Lange and Ash when we came for the playdate with your kiddos! And Brady, the kids said we need to come visit you at your house soon...since we didn't get to see you this week. So you better get ready!)
